The Aldi leg warmers look decent quality, picked up a pair for £7.99. It's amazing how few leg warmers even from the premium bands have wide grippers to a) stay up and b) not create pressure points. The Aldi ones look better in that regard.

Also picked up a set of spare lights for my bag in case my Cree ever runs out of juice and a couple of the little helmet lights.

Yep. Tested them this morning. My thighs aren't exactly slim so they fit really well. Kinda tight at times on the calves but not too bad at all, great for £8!

Really impressed with the light as well. Now running it on full strobe during the day, won't do that at night though!

I always seem to have drama in my cycling life!

Latest is the stem on my cyclocross snapping while heavy breaking down a hill in the dark, in a woods!

Torn up legs, arms and face and a puncture wound to the stomach :/

Merida have been superb, offered replacement same day from the warehouse near my house. I have my doubts about FSA parts, not the first time something made by them has snapped or broken in someway on me!

It could be the sd card I guess - I'll know for sure when the new one arrives later today. But yeah, I'm thinking it's just a duff unit. It's kind of put me off Virbs though, perhaps unfairly.

Try a new SD card first. I don't have any problems with my Virb either. My rear camera however, did all kinds of strange things, until I brought a new SD card.

Sweet, 1000 posts, only took nearly 10years :P

Latest firmware yeah. I'm almost certainly sending it back.

Rubbish! At least it's faulty now so you can send it back to where you got it from!

I recall someone else saying theirs did something 'odd' until they updated the firmware. I might have had something strange with mine too but can't recall, just know it was fine afterwards (and has remained so!).

Glad to hear Merida have been so helpful! As discussed on Strava, glad you're ok but hadn't realised the full extent of your injuries until now! Ouch!

Rest up mate, hope your holiday goes ok, just make sure you take it easy!

Riding back for several miles with handlebars barely hanging on and my body feeling like it had done 10 rounds with a boxer was interesting!

The weekend is Alpkit's weekender - cycling and climbing that sort of thing! should be interesting, least I have an excuse for rubbish performance and getting drunk to numb the pain! ;)

Long sleeves and legs arrived!

Got a front one this morning, but all out of the rears unfortunately. Got some legs and arms, but suspect I'll return the arms!

Yeah :/ I've summoned someone back home South to have a look at the Aldi there... likely to be more left than any London Aldi.

What's up with the arms? Almost tempted to get the fluro arms/legs though I think they may well look pretty stupid.

None of the rechargeable USB lights in my local Aldi, if any of the Manchester folks come across some could you pick up 2 fronts and 2 rears for me? Bonus beer monies in it for you.

More than willing to check my local Aldi as it's on my way home (slight detour) from work if anyone wants?

Is it just the USB front/rear lights most people are wanting? I know Aldi are awesome for no quibble returns so happy to grab some - but I've only got £8 with me today lol :)

Edit: Just seen the USB lights are £8.50 for front/rear lol

Did anyone manage to snag a Garmin Edge 500?

Happened to be in the arndale when I saw this so took a look, but no joy.

They were all out in the Portsmouth store, and only fronts left in Havant, I hold no hope, damnit for forgetting my wallet!

I've not tried the arms, but suspect I won't use them that much, as I would rather use my castellis, as if I'm using arm warmers I probably will be in shorts anyway! Could get some cheap DHB ones for less. But legs will be perfect for the commute to work and back.

They seem pretty similar to some Raypal lights you can get on DX for around the same price.

Tried to take my KOM back from One More Solo just now and despite lots of wind assistance all the cars driving the other way on that road had other ideas :/ Managed to make it a joint KOM though so I'm happy enough with that for now.

Next time, gadget :p

(edit: Also I read my highest HR ever on the third attempt. 190 is my new max, woo)

While we're on the subject of lights... I'm after a 500+ lumen front light for riding in the dark. Must be weatherproof and preferably USB chargeable (for ease as I'll also use it for commuting).

Ideally I don't want to spend much more than £50/60 and I would like a burntime of ~3 hours at max power (for leisure rides) and 8+ hours at low power (for a weeks worth of commuting).

This Knog Blinder ARC 5.5 is about within budget but doesn't have a long enough runtime (1.8 hours at maximum power). I'm also dubious about a Knog lights as my only experience is with a recent rear Blinder. My usual choices would be Cateye (not bright enough, the EL340 was very poor) and Leyzne (too expensive).
