**** The Official Google Nexus 6P Thread ****

The 6P takes a nano sim, how would one grab one of those as I presently have a micro sim in my Note4. I filed it down back in the day using a template I found online. I don't think it is possible to file the thing down any further?

just call your provider and ask for a nano sim? I spoke to three this morning and told them I was getting a new handset which uses a nano sim and they are posting one out to me... can't be arsed with the hassle of cutting my micro sim up when there's no need

Don't know what network you're on, but I just called Three and they sent me one out first class for free - even though I specifically told them there was no hurry! Definitely worth a try before you start hacking at your current SIM

Cheers guys. Looks like I'll soon give Three a ring then. The last time I did this to get my micro sim, they kept trying to blag me a new price plan even though I was on pay monthly. I got frustrated, hung up and just trimmed my existing one in the end.

Ah fair enough can understand your reluctance! They were fine for me no questions asked etc - hope you have a similar experience

There's not much in it. I'd have to start using WiFi as my data usage is horrendous at the moment but I've got free BT WiFi and I think O2 do it as well so not the end of the world.

PAYG - £449 Phone + 24 x £15 = £809

Contract - 24 x £35 = £840

Fair enough - if those are the numbers then it's not really worth worrying about.

I just popped into my local Three store and they swapped it then and there for free.

My mate had to pay £5 to get one for his iPhone though! :D

Some 5x orders have changed to "Pending" and users have had money taken. Looks like some 5x owners will get an early shipment. Here's hoping for early 6P orders too.

Seen that on my account...based on that i cancelled my 5X order and have committed 100% to the 6P. :p

Regarding fast charging, looks like USB-PD is faster than QC2.0, It takes the Nexus 6 (using QC2.0 1.09hrs to charge from 0% and it has a 3220mAh battery, yet the 6P with 3450mAh takes 1.6hrs at 10w (97 minutes confirmed in the AMA). That’s over 5v 3A (15W). There is no confirmation if a more powerful Type-C 3.1 compliant charger such as the 60w one on the Pixel 2 could charge the 6P faster or if it’s limited to negotiate 15w only from whatever USB-PD charger, wouldn’t it be nice to get a little bit faster yet? Perhaps outpace QC3.0? :p

Also new feature info on each device up:

Does anyone know what Project Fi actually is? I've tried reading about it a few times and just don't get it

I think it's a new Google feature where a Nexus device in the US can switch between phone networks and WiFi seamlessly, depending which is stronger. I think your network plan is with Google and they've partnered with the other networks.

I might have missed the point though, as it wont be in the UK for many years, I've not paid that much attention.

**EDIT** Interesting read

http://www.androidcentral.com/project-fi that seems to explain it pretty well, it appears to be a US thing as they have funny network setups so it allows it to seamlessly piggyback 2 networks providing greater coverage and less drop outs and also allows normal mobile network traffic to be routed over WiFi.

Just canceled my Graphite order at the Google Store with the intention of ordering the the Aluminium phone. Reasoning being that scratches and dings will be less noticeable. Will probably delay me getting the phone a little but whatever.

I changed mine from graphite to allum last night and my shipment date moved forward by a day :)

I'm probably one of the biggest SD slot diehards out there yet I ordered one, the 128GB one...
