Its an amazing PVE/PVP tool, the regen is very helpful I use it whenever I don't need another exotic.

Probably because your light isn't high enough.
That's exactly the reason why you can't see the nightfall, it unlocks at 280 light level. Once you reach that then it will become available on the playlist ie the bit where u choose which planet to go to.
Just be aware that it's difficult at 280, the higher light level you are the more easier it is to do it but I'm at 299 and I still find it a massive pain in the butt to do. So much so that I don't really bother unless I get an invite to do it with someone one on my friends list. Also unlike before ttk dropped, there was a point in doing the nightfalls...now not so much as I've done a few and got sweet FA from them. Before there was chances that exotics would drop but since the new dlc, I haven't seen or had any exotic drops.

All missions were really easy on my titan, now using a hunter and cant get past regicide. The annoying thing is that oryx doesn't actually hit me when he flies in and I'm still dead. Tried about 15 times now

Is it worth getting destiny without expansions second hand for a tenner or will I be missing loads of improvements?
you'll be missing out on a lot.
And if you do want the expansion content after deciding you like it, it works out cheaper to re-buy the game again and get the "taken king legendary edition" which includes all the expansions and the original game for under £40.

Have you unlocked shade step for void class? (or have the exotic helmet that grants it?) Works a treat!
