If only she was armed.

The reason why i support the banning of guns is the same reason why i wouldn't give children matches.

Children are too stupid to trust :)

In a developed society, I like to assume that people who think they need a gun to be safe can be categorised with the above.

You think that the US is a 'developed society'? Have you spent much time in the 'dodgy' areas of the US? People don't behave like people. From what I've seen n heard just around where I live I can certainly understand why people think they need a gun in their house to be safe. Sadly these people aren't very responsible, even the people 'protecting' the military recruitment centers in Chattanooga where accidentally discharging their guns and they considered themselves to be responsible gun owners...

Gun Ownership vs. Homicide Rate, Gun Ownership vs. FreedomHouse, Gun Ownership vs. FreeTheWorld

Right so

US Guns 112.6 and murder rate 3.8
UK Guns 4.0 and murder rate 1.0

What are your figures demonstrating, adding lots more guns makes 4 times as likely to be murdered?
I am not surprised, but you claim it would be easier to defend yourself. Yes because people announce loudly just before they murder you, so you have time to parley and repost!

Your sheet means nothing because you when you put the US, with its advanced economy, democracy and lots of guns in the same bucket as CAR with its inexistant economy, democracy or guns, the 'obvious' conclusion is that gun ownership correlates with prosperity and freedom.

Are you even aware of it when you troll or is it a second nature indistinguishable from reality for you?

Terrible news, we should ban bath tubs. You know how many people die in bath tubs per year? Even children.

Just the same i could find news that shows that guns prevented crime or in some way helped someone.

http://www.indystar.com/story/news/crime/2015/09/22/burglary-suspect-shot-head-eastside/32529013/

For example.

Often pro anti-gun media won't report on incidents that resulted in someone stopping an incident because they were armed. I do see that sort of incident occurring on ******** and alternative news sources.

Did someone use a legally owned bathtub to kill her?
Seriously. Your ridiculous arguement would have been better left at the second half of your reported media, rather than involving the idiotic distraction of the first.
Better to state you are pro guns, and feel you need that blanket in your life, than state some idiocy regarding banning bath tubs.
Doesn't help your argument.

What restrictions if any should be placed on gun owners! Or ahould aimply being a citizen allow you to own a death cannon?
Most people want some form of restriction, rather than ban.
Argue your case.
In the meantime, i'll soak in the tub.

I can do it for 2000, will that do you?

Data is taken from the National Safety Council - I'm sure they're another pinko-liberal-lefty-fascist group just trying to take guns away, but it's the best I could find you.

Drowning and submersion while in or falling into bath-tub - 341
Assault by firearm - 10,801
Intentional self-harm by firearm - 16,586
Legal intervention involving firearm discharge - 270

So, if you want to be safe, you might be better off carrying a bathtub rather than a gun ;)

Came across this the other day - when you consider there are 315m people in USA your figures are a bit out - whether this is any more accurate than any other load of twaddle pushed out by others I don't know.

the amount of firearms over here is crazy, most nights you hear people firing off ak's and ar15 etc around here. I just tell my daughter its fireworks. 80% of the guys at work have guns in their cars. My boss carries a colt .45 everywhere he goes. In New Hampshire your seen as odd if you don't have a gun. Most people say they carry it for protection, yet we live in one of the lowest crime and safest states in the country. Which the NRA will probably say is due to everyone having guns...

What are the statistics of gun crime done with a legal gun (inc police) against guns used for self defence? I find it ridiculous that people carry around rifles, seems such a burden for nothing.
