Morons letting off fireworks

Set off a few fireworks in a friends back garden once... neighbour came round ranting and raving that we had no respect for him or his animals and that we were horrible and inconsiderate and blah blah blah.

It was 7-8pm on bonfire night... it was BONFIRE night...

Corrected him on who was the inconsiderate one and who didn't care about his animals... he was quite befuddled and speechless, it was amusing...

You can't complain on bonfire night.

Can understand why he's not happy though. My dog is a shivering mess when fireworks kick off :( It only takes one.

This was out on the edge of a rural village... and it was his horses that he was complaining about.

They didn't seem fussed... they were even curious and came closer to watch rather than getting spooked! We didn't know the horses were out when we started... assumed any normal human would keep them in barn that night.

What I couldn't quite wrap my head around... was that he and his wife have enclosed stables on the side of a large field that is away from the populated area... yet... they both decided to let the horses roam free that night rather than keeping them in the safer/quieter environment of the enclosed barn/stables.

Hence why it was him who didn't care about his animals...

I love fireworks... have since I was a kid... I have cats who get a little nervous (although not terrified)... I always kept them inside during the evenings for the weekends either side of bonfire night and through the week in the middle... it just makes sense :S

A horse that flips out in it's stable can do itself a lot of damage. Letting them out in the fields allows them to run off nervous energy. It entirely depends on the individual animal. **** all to do with not caring about their animals.

kids will be kids... I remember when i was 13 - 14 yrs old... pals and i would buy up a load of mini rockets and some tubes and play rocket wars... Was lots of fun. one did get in my jacket once and shoot all around inside of it... Yes its dangerous to an extent, but so is everything else in life that's fun.

Its called BEING A KID !! Mr Cricket practice. Sounds like you had a right blast (pardon the pun) during your childhood.

I've had a firework shot at me before, it's not terror inducing, annoying yes but that's all.

Years ago we went to a local pub organised display. A firework accidentally shot into the crowd and hit a lady in the face and she had to be taken to hospital. I wouldn't exactly use the term "annoying" to describe it. They are dangerous.

As a kid it horrified me and I've always been wary ever since.
