Clash of Clans

As mentioned in the in-game chat, we're potentially looking at going back to wars twice a week (Starting @ 9pm GMT on a Sunday and Tuesday - to finish on a Tuesday and Thursday evening).

At the moment, we're struggling with wars, and I don't think that continuing to war back-to-back is helping us.

We are a casual clan and as such we're never going to have a full set of players opted in to war so I think having just 2 a week will help. It should give players the time to loot for upgrades etc and also to practice attack strategies should they want to.

Thoughts?

Jim :)

Most of us are TH9 and high TH8 now, which means that GoWiPe is struggling to produce results, which is in turn why we've lost so many wars recently. With the break from continuous war, its time to start learning new strategies (me included)!

This video should start us down the right path, explaining what the theory behind the kill-squad, back-end, and clear up troops compositions and how they work together to 3*

Most of our lower TH9s are rushed as well, we should be discouraging our remaining TH8s from jumping to TH9 before their troops are ready for TH9 3* attacks.

am finding my lack of builders my biggest hinderance :D

Nox

Just keep clearing trees, mushrooms etc and collect the gems, then at 500 gems iirc you can buy one.
Also when you get a little higher, you can just attack farming bases (Town hall is usually in the corner away from main base), drop 5 archers at it, then when its destroyed, quit the battle, you will get 1 star and some trophies.
If you get to 1250 trophies you can get a free builder, then immediately drop trophies and get back to where you were ;)

TH9 is fun for new strategies but the new struggle will be trying to learn new attacks with one heroe down whilst they are upgrading. I cant remember the last time i had both heroes for 2 consecutive wars.

Got 4 builders, still need more :D

I've made the jump to TH9 and the only troops that 'weren't ready' were hogs. Kinda regretting it now but it's not the end of the world as they're not going to get me 3* against a TH9. A lot of the troops that TH9 attack strategies say to use take time to be unlocked and upgraded - golems, witches, lavahounds, loons, hogs, etc. so a lot of our new TH9s don't really have much to choose from when we're being matched up with pretty high level TH9 opponents.

IMO, the main thing people should be working on upgrading at TH9 are heroes. Now that we've got 1 war/week for low/high people should be able to get them upgraded regularly.

All,

It's becoming quite apparent now that we always have a lot of opt outs in the clan. I don't remember the last time we had any more than 25 players in a war.

I know we've always been a fairly casual clan, and there is no problem with players opting out if they are upgrading heroes or spell factories, but we have players that have been opted out for much longer than that, as well as players with a consistently bad donation ratio.

As a result of this, we're looking to do a bit of a cull to try and remove those players and then look at recruiting more active players to try and spur things on a bit.

If you find that over the next few days you have been kicked from the clan, it is probably for one of these reasons.

If you believe you've been kicked wrongly, then please let me know via this thread.

Hi Jim,

I'm in that troublesome nowhere land, TH8 and not yet ready to leap to 9. troops need serious work after watching that brilliant yt video above. would there be any mileage in having split wars according to TH levels ? I know if I opted in now I'd face low level TH9's or even 10's which I'm just not ready for.

Assuming that those who are warring on a regular basis average TH9.5 leaves us little fella's with a handicap as the match up system will pair us up with a predominantly TH9 level clan.

Would love to be active and opt in, just don't want to be a burden in the greater scheme of things.

** Also what would you say to an OCUK development clan? taking on board much lower leveled players with the intent of giving them a place to push without a rush, I know there was an OCUK 2.0 which didn't take off but do you think the idea has any merit?

Hey snapdragon,

What's your in-game name?

I think the split wars were a great idea, but ultimately ended up in 10vs10 or 15vs15 wars, which, whilst fun, meant that half the clan had to sit out.

Having as many people as possible involved in clan wars is part of the fun, brings everyone together, and is what this game is all about.

I'm not averse to the idea of having a development clan, which could be for the newer players and also might well be a good home for some of the lesser active players in the main clan.

What does everyone else think?

Jim :)

Why did I get kicked? Was it coz I missed my second attack? If so a lot of people have missed their second attack but not got kicked.

Yeah that and the fact that your donations are ****e. It's been a long time coming to be honest elrasho and you were warned repeatedly to improve them which you ignored hence the boot.

Anyone else completely lost interest? I've been playing for about 18 months now, completely maxed out TH8, just walls left to go to now, but I just have no interest in logging on any more. I may come back to it in time I suppose.

TH9 is where the fun begins with all the different 3 star attacks and new troops. TH8 and below was a bit boring :(

Warned once and my donations did improve. I dont go on the game every 10 minutes, rather 3 or 4 times in a day and if someone needs troops when I do go on I'll donate.

Missed my second attack because something came up in real life. Was fun whilst it lasted but the constant losing of wars was getting tiresome.

Welcome to the forums btw.

Got kicked. Understand the reason. Work has been crazy. Once I can spend more time I'll reapply.

Worse part is I'll have no one to celebrate getting to LVL 100 #foreveralone
