I ordered 32GB on the 27th and its arriving today via DPD, bit shocked it's coming so soon since the estimated delivery date was 3-5th Nov.

Mines down for Monday UKMail, the depot is 5 minutes away from me wonder if I can pick it up in person if it arrives there tomorrow?

Well driver didn't leave with neighbour as instructed, so I'll be taking a trip to the depot this evening.

Are you it wasn't 3-5 days? That's what it has always said and still says

Yeah mine was 3-5 days for dispatch, then a 3 day window for delivery from today to Tuesday.

Taking photos on a black table is a pain to get good photos hah.

First impressions are good, setup was nice and easy, except for entering passwords for accounts. My god that is a pain. Would be good if the synced phone could work with TouchID or something.

Can you not use the remote app on the phone to enter passwords etc.? Once you've entered your Apple ID that worked well for me on ATV2/3.

That doesn't appear to be in the menu options for the new Apple TV.

I thought it pulled in all the settings etc from your iPhone via Bluetooth?

It does during setup for account information and what not, but if you purchase anything it will ask for a passcode, and you can set if you want to be asked again right away, not to be asked for the next 15 minutes, or never to be asked again. As it's only me and my GF in the house, I can set it to never ask, as I doubt she'd go buying stuff.

I believe it's for movies/tv initially, but an update for Apple Music is coming in the new year.

Yeah it's available for £2.49.

I was considering getting it, but I may just wait for the official app, seen as I can AirPlay off my iPhone all my Plex content.

apple stuff always has no delivery to neighbour on it in my experience

Bit the bullet went to the Apple Store in Norwich and picked one up, was going to get a second one anyway.

The unit direct from Apple will arrive on Monday.

All setup impressed by it so far, now to add some apps to the little black box

How do apple tv's actually work? I have a load of locally stored music and films, would they have to be open in iTunes to play them on the TV? Can it be via wired connection?

All done via iCloud and other streaming services like Netflix, you can stream from iTunes if you wish, but you don't have to.

Yes it'll use a wired connection.
