Not long now to find out and we'll perhaps Dice will throw some light onwhether if it is the case or not.
I will not, I shall keep it to myself !!!

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Yes, you must have.We must've played different games called BF4...
Mantle started off fine. What issues did it have? All I can remember is that some people were upset their 4 core Intel GPU's and reasonably powerful AMD GPU's weren't seeing massive gains, which wasn't Mantle's fault, it is just how it works. People were expecting too much due to a lack of understanding of what it actually does and the fact that it being limited to vendor-specific GPU's meant that its potential would never manifest itself as something that affected anything except the game performance. Game designed from the bottom up to support Mantle/DX12/Vulkan/whatever will have some very cool potential. That is where DX12 will shine. Not just improving performance in existing games.Mantle never did start off very well in BF4, it had loads of issues it was far into BF4's life span did it become more ironed out. Not trying to bash mantle, as it's a great API its just it didn't get a great opener to the world. BF4 had loads of issues and bugs and still has some today.
BF4 does run great for a lot of people and SLI and xfire scaling is good too but it had lots of issues and still has a few which tbh isn't great for how long its been out. This is where the justification comes from.
Battlefront looks amazing and runs really well, just a lot of people including my self are sceptical how DX12 will run once integrated. Hopefully really well.
Also my previous post was in regards to DX12 being practically mantle. a lot won't agree with this lol. I'm not one of these people but im not going to air my opinion on this as it sparks loud voices.
Yes, you must have.
Dont confuse incessant netcode issues to be the same as performance optimization.
From Day 1, the game ran fantastic on a wide variety of rigs. Beta was terrible, but none of those performance issues persisted in the full launch.

Or perhaps your rig had something amiss as I didn't see anyone else dropping 84/81fps.
As above, Mantle had zero launch CrossFire support, missing IQ for a few days, a memory leak(that I didn't get that I think was down to having plenty left in the tank with 4Gb@1080p) and iirc the 79 series wasn't given much love and took some time for optimisation.
It had a rocky start, but on the whole-different gravy I think was the term.
I said it then and I'll say it now, if DX12 can emulate and surpass Mantle, we are all in for a treat, Mantle was a pleasure, it gave a glimpse into what DX12's going to bring..

That if it flat out didn't work, that's what I would consider unsuccessful.
Depends what you got from it I suppose on whether you regard it to be a successful launch or not, you had a bad one by the sounds of it, I said it had a rocky one yet turned out to be a great on the whole.
Considering there were a good few more titles that were really enjoyable on Mantle and comparing some of them back to back in my rig, it even skelped my 970 rotten in a title or two, so I view Mantle successful in my gaming experience.
I can see why you didn't enjoy it then, I got a few via mates/AMD coupon and bought the rest bar civ as not interested in rts in the slightest.
Me likes, thanks for posting Tommy![]()
