**** The Official Google Nexus 6P Thread ****

Just off from the online chat with them, 20 pounds discount and a new email should arrive this week with a new delivery date.
Ordered a 64GB Alum, on the 29th of Sept with a due date of 2-4Nov.

I better be offered that too.

Just got off chat, 3 different people as the first 2 people got cut off/chat ended early for some unknown reason...

Anyway, the last guy said I should get an email "this week" about the delay, they don't know what the new dates are and that the email system will know before they do.

Apparently my case has been escalated to a senior person.

TBH I pre-ordered for a reason, to get it on an expected delivery date (or before in some instances!), not an unknown time after.

I've asked for my order to be cancelled. I might buy the phone again after the new year... But based on principle, I don't want a delayed pre-order. of which the delay is an unknown period of time, a week? 2 weeks? That's not what pre-ordering and being given a date is about. Especially when you hear of people ordering more recently and getting shipping notices already.

If they compensate me with £20 refund AND $50 worth of Play Store credit I will probably keep the order though, as lack of play store credit for UK/EU peeps when US orders get it is a kick in the teeth.

Sod it, the whole thing stinks!

At least you guys are able to order it at all. Being in the Channel Islands, Google aren't shipping here because of the whole not paying VAT thing and various other tax related shenanigans. I pretty much have to wait until Handtec or someone similar get them in stock to order it :(

Same boat! I decided to go with the 5X instead as amazon had stock of it last week. £290 for the 32gb. Bit of a bargain.

Just got off chat with them myself. Apparently their system says a 2 day delay, I did try to push to see if this was just a guess or something more concrete but she just said that's what is on the system. Anyway £20 credited to my account for the trouble

Not bad! I'm after the 6P myself and it looks like Amazon aren't currently carrying it :(. My HTC M8 is just starting to act up (wireless won't stay connected, sporadic mobile data connection) so I'm really keen to nab one ASAP.

Indeed, I wouldn't hold out hope of them getting it either :( certainly not til after Christmas anyway.

I'm not sure if it's the same for everyone, but I can't even preview songs on the play store before I buy them because of the problem Google has with the Channel Islands :p

I haven't had a problem with the play store myself, as far as it is concerned I'm in the UK whenever I go for apps. It's only devices that it then moans about but only when I put in my shipping address :(

So same as everyone else here. Complained a bit about why I should go with them instead of CPW basically (even if it is smaller capacity) and he said '2 year warranty, faster OTA updates and a 6 month google play subscription'.

The 6 month thing is new...pushed a bit on it since I thought it was 90 days, and he said that they extended it due to the delay...wonder if it's an alternative to the £20.

Sod the subscription, it's a trial like those Dropbox ones where you try it out upload a whole bunch of stuff and use it, then the trial expires and it's just easier to pay the sub than to migrate away.

That's not really a good form of compensation. I'd want the normal refund of £20 and the additional play store credit to match the USA orders at the very least.

Under EU law a 2yr warranty is standard AFAIK and OTA updates will be exactly the same never mind where you buy it from.

EU law doesn't apply here since UK did not opt in to that. Though probably arguments that SoGA/CRA applies for a similar period here. The OTA updates I agree with you.

Was going to say it, but then figured there's limited benefit in arguing about that with the CS rep so left it...perhaps I shouldn't have, but ah well.
