It's far worse on my system![]()
And in other news, my Mrs just bought me a DK2 for Chrimbo and my Birthday and it will be here tomorrow for me to play with. Looking forward to head scratching on getting it to work but super excited in truth![]()
I am quite tempted to buy one... just not sure I can justify it for a single game![]()
Its only a couple of months probably before its coming out. I wouldnt if i were you. Firstly because its no longer being sold by Frontier so you'd have to get it from a 3rd party seller either new or used and take your chances. Also a 760 is really gonna struggle even with everything on low in the DK2
Whereas if you wait you can pick up v cheap dk2 in a couple of months or spanking new Vive or
CV1
edit:
ohh wait the Vive has been delayed once again
to April 2016

Welcome to the DK2 club
There is a couple of stickies in the VR section of Elite dangerous forums that are must reads to optimize your VR Elite Experience. Elite is actually extremely easy to get to work compared to some other stuff. The menus are curved as well now so a bit easier to read.
Only thing which is tricky is navigating the galaxy map but if you are used to doing that already you should be fine.
Remember you wont get the same level of clarity and quality but the immersion should make up for that in spades. Especially as you have a titan x lol.
I was talking about a 980 lol![]()
Cheers bud and I might well be hounding you for some tips if I get really stuck but should be ok. Not sure it will arrive today as it hasn't been marked as shipped but hopefully he was just lazy in updating the bay.
The other thing that springs to mind with the rift is to make sure you adjust the HUD to a green colour, it will make it far more readable.
Yeah fingers crossed it arrives.
I have only started back into Elite recently so i will be going through the various VR configuration steps as well. When i was testing the other day (hope you like testing/tweaking endless configurations for VR) i was again very impressed with the scale and immersion of Elite (i hadnt been in VR for a while, only been playing monitor games). Ended up just flying round a space station.
Ohh if you wear glasses you will need to change the dials at the sides of the headset to all the way out as it is a bit of a squeeze in there.
Also luckily the big VR tweaking thread is aimed squarely at NVIDIA cards (some of it can be used for AMD but at the moment you will get a better experience in Elite on a nvidia card imo)
I wonder if they'd consider a cheaper 1080p version, for those of us who do not have über-über top end kit... else they'll surely have a pretty small customer base, no?Also with the Oculus Rift the official *minimum requirement* of graphics card is a GTX980![]()

Hi Everyone,
Beta is going very well – the team have been working hard and have made great progress. Thanks to all those that have been helping us - a great many improvements have been included already, with another update (Beta 5) expected tomorrow, with more tweaks and changes.
We have worked very hard to ensure forward & backward compatibility so that all players of both seasons can play in the same galaxy together.
After every Elite Dangerous release we have taken care to listen and reacted to all feedback, and Elite Dangerous: Horizons will follow exactly the same process. Included with Horizons will be multiple expansions of which Planetary Landings will be the first.
All going well, we plan to launch Horizons with Planetary Landings on Tuesday (15th December – you heard it here first!). This will initially be termed an ‘Early Access’ release to highlight our normal process to our broad audience, some of whom have been with us since the start, but many have joined our community very recently.
We’ve put together a beta gameplay trailer here, for those that don’t have yet the beta, and here is a link:
i dont know why they put this out, only a very few of current players have that sort of spec and unless they want to ramp up graphical quality massively - and its already great - how can they have this as minimum? Makes no sense to me.
Im running an i5-3570K, a 970 and 8gb of ram, on an oculus rift DK2 at top quality and i dont have any probs. I cannot fathom how this is minimum.
