ISIL, ISIS, Daesh discussion thread.

We have to be OK with the consequences of our governments actions, such as Paris and 7/7, we are at war.

The West is killing innocents by the thousands, the military drone program is “morally outrageous” and “one of the most devastating driving forces for terrorism and destabilization around the world” according to operators in this NBC special report.

You want to nuclear weapons used? Are you aware of how insanely idiotic your stance is or is it some twisted type of trolling?

Nuclear force probably saved a lot more death, overall, in Japan, and brought a swift surrender and conclusion to things, not that I think Mr. Putin would actually go quite that far yet.

Yeah its bad enough we used depleted uranium rounds and white phosphorous bombs there, in civilian areas, urgh

As long as the price of crude oil stays nice and low, it's only a matter of time until the House of Saud goes broke and the locals express their disapproval kinetically.

Halcyon days.

Don't start celebrating yet, since it's actually the Saudis who are the ones keeping the oil price low, they have a decade or two iirc they can keep this up for.

One of the reasons they are doing it is to put pressure on the US shale industry by trying to make it uneconomical to frac.

They can turn the oil taps down at any point to raise the crude oil price when it suits them

I wouldn't celebrate if it happened tomorrow. Like it or not the House of Saud has provided stability in Saudi for the last few decades, if it falls then on possible (and imo quite likely) outcome is an Islamic State like group taking over. Just think about that for a second, it's a duty of all Muslims to go on Hajj to Mecca and if Mecca was controlled by the IS - how do you stop them going?

No indication exactly who did this and it is denied by the coalition. In the meantime the Russian and Syrian forces are using indiscriminate and unguided munitions quite freely. Why are you bias? Why are you not criticising those efforts?

that is the baffling thing - the west/US has been quite reserved and limited in its response, they held back a bit in Iraq quite deliberately as they didn't want to take sides in a wider sectarian dispute between the sunnis and the Iraqi govt... the response in Syria has been fairly limited too mostly involving targeting ISIS.... Yet Putin steps in, goes for a bombing campaign using unguided munitions and attacking pretty much any group that isn't loyal to Assad and people seem to applaud him for it.

Yay more made up figures, how many civilians died in the iraq war? millions wasn't it, or was it billions?

I wonder why muslims from north africa in the 1700s took american sailors for slaves? Must have been all the drone strikes yea?

Made up figures? Did you not see the sources in the video?!

What are you talking about the 1700's for? Are you not taking medicine or do you just not really know how to follow a conversation and only half read a thread?

Uh... Can you show me where in that post I said it was the coalition?! I didn't say whose bombs they were just showed that civilians are dead. Think you jumped the gun a bit there kid.
