The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Hah, I had the same for the ending. Got really annoyed and started looking at some spoilers to see where I'd gone wrong :p Got confused when what I read indicated I should've got the good ending!

Same.... I found a criteria list and couldn't work out what was happening!

Glad I killed Radovid (twonk), happy I sided with Cerys and I'm *really* glad Roche got his country back :)

I can't see anything matching this anytime soon. Can't wait for Blood & Wine. I've tried playing a few other games but I can't stick at them for more than half an hour now. I've done a bit of exploring in Skyrim but there's not much to do after 150+ hours. :(

I can't work out why I still don't have a full Gwent Deck. Pretty sure I got all the unique cards and bought from all the vendors.

A lot of cards can only be gotten by playing games. Play vendors and in tournaments.

I played every Blacksmith and other vendor I ever came across so far but I suppose I'll have to keep looking. I'll wait for DLC before doing that as it gets boring going from place to place looking for people I haven't played! :)

I AM going exploring, stop making It sound like I aint. I don't fast travel, have been checking out a lot of "?" places etc.

Sorry for "going too fast" and not playing how you guys like to play it.

Not having a go, we must just be anal completionists :) I thought I must have been a bit odd not going to Skellige until I was about level 21 or so!

No offence meant man. Just wanted to reassure you weren't going too slow.

I've found that the ? markers aren't that great. My 2 favourite quests so far have been witcher contracts - neither of which ended up with me hunting a typical monster ;)

The fall of house reardon and the beast of honorton.

You're doing fine. Level 11 is early to go to Skellige, not because you're 'missing out' on anything else since you can jump around wherever whenever you want basically, but because most quests will be too hard for you to complete.

You'll probably end up poking around Skellige for a little bit and then hopping back to Velen to complete more stuff there.

At least you'll have an idea of when it's a good time to go back. Those going there when they're already level 25+ are going to discover they're quite overleveled for a significant number of quests.

Also, total personal preference, I enjoyed things a lot more turning off the ? markers. Yea, you'll miss some things, but you also wont simply be laser guided to marks on the map the entire time. So you can properly explore on your own and discovering something feels more satisfying.

Personally I don't get the thing in open world about not doing the story. Most threads turn in to a competition of who has done the least in the most time... I'm a hundred hours in and haven't left Kaer Morhen yet!

The main story in these games will send you everywhere in time anyway, and most feature a natural break in the narrative that allows for just going off exploring(act 2 in this game). I think it best to mix it up and just do whatever seems natural to you.

Back into this game now thanks to the new mons

A balance between main story, all types of side quests, the question marked locations and gwent seems the best to me. Want a full monster deck asap for some reason and I usually dislike side games bar triple triad in FF8.

Really, the mod I want to see more than anything else is a progress balancing mod. A complete overhaul of the XP system and tweaks to the crafting requirements and skill trees.

Not sure about the other bits, but I believe there are some mods to reduce XP gain, its been mentioned before in this thread.

Have you done the tournament as well? There are various guides on how to collect them all if you google it, though I'm pretty sure for some cards its a case of "make sure you play this person at this point or you'll never be able to get the card", so you could be screwed if you've completed the game.

I'm getting so frustrated, playing the game at the hardest level, trying to beat the Golem and now the Gargoyle two levels below the enemy level is proving to be seriously rage inducing. What makes it even more annoying is for some reason on my save, Kiera got stuck behind the door when it closed so now I don't have her as a distraction.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Yep. I looked up some guides and it seems I did all the quest cards. Must be missing some of the more basic ones. Annyoing!

@TONY

Think I was a few more lvls below them when I fought them on the hardest difficulty.

I saved after the golem then the gargoyle I just used quen and rolled towards kiera then let the gargoyle focus on her then hit him in the back a few times roll away, rinse and repeat.

Edit: just seen you got kiera stuck behind the door.....good luck with that lol if I didn't have her there I think ide still be on the mission now.

It needs more than just that. It needs actual balancing along with tweaking the affected systems to suit. A flat percentage reduction is just a band aid on a bullet hole.

That's quite an exaggeration.

But those who do brag about that kind of thing are usually just expressing their joy in how the game provides a ton of fun without even needing to do the 'main' objective. Usually people that like to really immerse themselves, never rushing to objectives, limited fast travel use, spending a lot of time exploring, etc. I dont think anybody is actually trying to 'compete' with anybody else.

Might have to go back to an earlier save, kill golem again then re save so kiera returns to my side for golem fight.

It's the damn aoe foot stamp that annoys the hell out of me, takes like 2/3 health as I find it really hard to roll out in the confined space. I'm trying to beat it with qwen and the magic spell to slow his attacks down. after about 45 mins trying, it had to go off as I was getting close to throwing a proper wobly lmao

I've just completed the main quest after about 130 hours!!!

As for the ending... I had a major tantrum.
I was absolutely raging when Ciri didn't reappear from the Frost portal. Actually, I quit the game after telling Emhyr she was dead and had to cool down for a few hours.

Loaded back up again to continue and thought oh well, may as well see it through. Got to the Tavern and thought Triss was the shady looking character in the corner... Ah well, at least my Geralt romanced her and won't be foreveralone.jpg.

SURPRISE!

THANK GOD FOR THAT!!!!!

CD Projekt Red are absolute sods for doing that to me!!!

I was quite happy with the ending and thought it was fitting. I wish it cleared up what happened to Dandelion, Yen and co. though.

Also actually feel quite bad for romancing Triss instead of Yennefer now. Why did they have to make her come across as such a female dog early on? :(

Wish I'd read the books first to be honest, would have probably changed a few major choices for me.

Regarding Yen, Dandelion and Zoltan, they are present in the inn...in the second good (a little bittersweet) ending. That one is my favourite ending, glad I got it the first time.
