Vodafone Smart Ultra 6

I'm looking at ordering one from the rainforest. So far I'm used to a tablet with a "full" case and the Smart Ultra will be my first large screen smartphone.

Do people think getting a screen protector and case is really required with one of these? And if so, is there a recommended lightweight case and screen protector combo to go with this phone? (The rainforest website does suggest one when you go to order) Cheap as you like please :D

Yes saw that. Quite tempted to go for a folio style case though - maybe because that's what I'm used to on my Tablet. Decisions...

Notification on my 1 day old phone about a Vodafone update to 5.1.1 (slightly hungover so can't recall the entire message ). I understand its an Android update, but is it safe to proceed with an unlocked phone?

Completely missed this thread until now. Looking for an Android phone because I'm fed up with Apple.

This seems a decent phone phone, and seems even better when it's £115. Surely not. Am i missing something? I've had a quick read through some of the thread, but i just want to make sure :p

Very impressed so far. Moved from an iPhone. Finding Android a not hard to get used to. Its a big phone. Try it out in a Vodafone store first.

Well, you're getting maybe a £160-£220 for £115, so if you're coming from a decent iPhone, don't expect it to match up. It is great value though.

Coming from an iPhone 5 :p

Just ordered one from Amazon. Will be here christmas eve :) Ordered the cheapest screen protector and case i could find just to protect it from day 1

Popped into ASDA today and joined the VSU6 owners club. BT SIM card will hopefully be here tomorrow, so now I need to sort out an unlock. Any tips before I set sail on the wild seas of Ebay?

I went with the seller which had high feedback, which amounted to £1.99 took about an hour to come through with idiot proof instructions hassle free.

Updating to 5.1.1 did not affect the unlock either.

The other half is more than happy with her new phone.
