** Star Wars Episode VII - SPOILERS WITHIN **

Wow, this thread has just got worse. I don't even come in here to see any starwars stuff anymore. I just come in to see how pathetic it's got, arguing for arguments sake.

Training an apprentice is fine.
Doing the same old youth on a desert planet with hitherto unknown force abilities with a cute robo companion blah blah blah leading up to the same old deathstar routine is a bit different.

they would heroically sacrifice Luke and Leia within the first 15 minutes of the Ep 8
Leia, fine but not Luke. I really need to see him be a badass Jedi for more than 15mins because 2 fights with Vader doesn't cut it for me (personally). As long as he doesn't do barrel rolls like Yoda in the prequels.

Took the nipper to see this last night, was my 2nd viewing and unfortunately it doesn't get any better than the 1st viewing. Some niggles actually get worse with the biggest flaw for me, outside of the Rey character, is how Chewy essentially doesn't give a **** that Han died. Who would have though a film about Ant Man would have more emotional resonance than a Star Wars film.

Side note, son loved it. But his opinion is invalid as he found 4,5,6 to be boring.

Can the mods try to do something in this thread? Seriously the amount of off topic crap perpetuated by Easyrider is ridiculous.

+1, if only there was an option to ban a user from a thread.

I come in here to read peoples opinions and all i see are arguments unrelated to the film.

Chewie let out a little cry!

Plus he has been in a suppressive relationship for 40 years. Always bring told what to do and held back.

I'm with Easyrider on this, the film was horribly flawed in so many way. Perhaps I will type out my full critique when I get round to it. Fair enough to those who enjoyed it, it was somewhat entertaining and in terms of going to the cinema and switching off to some sci-fantasy entertainment with 'cool' visuals this managed to tick a lot of the boxes. If I were to compare this film to anything it would be 'The Chronicles of Riddick' which I enjoyed for the spectacle and mindless sci-fi nature.

Only trouble is this is Star-Wars, if a Riddick film is poor people don't really care, this franchise means far more to people than that. Is this really the best Disney and JJ could come up with, I mean really? The most worrying thing to me is that there has been little to no backlash against the film. Episodes 8 & 9 have now been green-lighted to be equally poor films and will still make a fortune at the box office. That is a crying shame.

Totally agree with you. The fast and Furious films are like this. Just action packed nonsense. And this is fine by me. As I said before SW means so much more to audiences.

I understand that JJ was trying to please all age groups etc..But it can be done...There is enough in the Indiana Films to cater for all ages..Even in Toy story.

.

I still debating whether to see it again tbh. I'm hoping I can see past things but your post doesn't give me much hope.

It would make sense with her familiarity with the staff already.

I am still waiting for someone with nunchucks....doubt that will ever happen though.

How would that work? Wouldn't they damage their hands when catching them?

Don't forget that little one shot kill rampage.
Those stormtroopers are ever so helpful with popping out in sequence at just the right time :p

I bet chewie rocks at Unreal Tournament.

No one has addressed my question about Rey being able to understand wookie...

Can anyone shed any light on this for me please?

Also I'm anxious to know how Rey can speak wookie?

Rey, who has never left her home planet since she was a child, can speak Wookie. Nobody can speak Wookie... it's a running joke in the Star Wars universe. Doesn't Luke ask solo all the time what Chewie is saying?

But Rey being able to speak Wookie surprises neither her, Han Solo, nor Chewbacca himself.

I guess it's under the same category as people just seeming to be able to understand droid beeps.
Let it go IMO. There are bigger issues than understanding wookie or troopers using flamethrowers instead of lasers.
