Hey man, it's your house, you know what you want to do with it. My wife and I are hoping to move house in a couple of years. Neither of us care for gardening, but we love watching films, so hell yeah I'll pick a big reception room that I can do home cinema in over a massive garden. Similarly if I can get a garage for bike stuff, then I'll definitely go for it. You want somewhere for your bike stuff because it's a big deal to you, of course you should factor that into your decisions.

Absolutely this, when I got my place, had hardly any criteria except, needs to have a drive way for the car, and a garage or garden big enough to put a good solid shed in. Everything else was just a benefit! Man Caves are great, although now all my stuff is in mine, I'm going to struggle to work around it to get it exactly how I want it!

Got back from Thailand last night and it was ****ing down this morning and I didn't want to go ride, but all the beer I drank while away, I needed to. Legs didn't have the power. Spinning like mad but couldn't take any harder. Pussy legs.

I felt much better this morning. I think the previous pain in my calf/knee was actually cramp. I got a touch of it again this morning but not as bad. Its similar cramp to what I used to get when I first started cycling! I guess its the bikes way of telling me how lazy I've been in the last few weeks.

Strava being weird for anyone today? Garmin Connect seems fine and is syncing okay to MFP but not Strava.

^ Physichull - I know the feeling. My legs are feeling pretty dead and I've only done 60 miles so far this week. My HR is starting to not go quite so crazy the minute I try to put any power down though, so that's good. Oh yeah...and DOMS from starting up lifting again. Le suck.

This! Didn't the met release something where you could submit footage online of traffic violations?

Strava seems ok here.

Thanks for that mate, I've been telling myself to 'stop being so silly' but I really don't have (m)any other requirements. I really am a creature of habit when it comes to home life - as long as I've got coffee, food, cider, good seat for the TV, space for my PC's and a bed to sleep in, I'm happy! ;)

I do tend to go through phases of being interested in different things so having some space for these hobbies is always going to be a requirement whatever they are! :)

It could be a scarred/damaged muscle from an old reoccurring injury? Any recent seat/cleat adjustment?

I was the same! Only considered places with either an extra bedroom or a garage for my bikes :p

Can confirm Touch has priorities in the right places.
We worked on my manky winter bike in his house.... On his brand spanking new laminate flooring which he refused 3 times to put anything down on. He's a cyclist.

Wheee, pretty good ride in this morning. My bike was much quieter since fixing the broken mudguard reflector, haha! The new brakes also worked, which was obviously handy.

I nearly got taken out by a cyclist, which made for a bit of variety. I was in primary in a right turn lane, and as I approached the turning he suddenly veered over from the straight on lane to my left and came up alongside me on the inside, leaving me to take the turning at a sharper angle. He was on a hybrid so I dropped him asap without any difficulty.

I managed to scare an older lady who was riding a Brompton in wellies by saying "morning" as I rode past. She caught up to me and overtook me a couple of times by going through every set of red lights she came to. Ridiculous.

I had the exact same thing on my ride the other day. I've only ever had cramp once before and it was a couple of weeks after i started cycling. And yet i felt like my quads and calfs were both about to cramp in the last ten miles of my ride on monday. Definitely a sign that i've let myself go.

If anyone knows the link to this that would be handy! Sussex Police have an easy form to submit reports through Operation Crackdown. Submitted this guy the other week:

yeah there is, but they ask for "raw" footage etc(as a cd/dvd I believe it was) as youtube is "too edited" from their POV which is weird :o they need to catch up with technology etc..

Just suffering a bit of but hurt because he looked a twonk getting in the wrong lane and you being there stopped him from gunning it as soon as the left turn light went green to cut in to the correct lane.

it was me and another cyclist behind me in the cyclist box, had to mute the audio because the guy started swearing quite a bit ;) I swore when he went in the wrong lane but thought nothing of it until he started raping his horn and giving me the looks for, I guess following the law?:eek:

Decided work could wait this morning so was late and went for a bit of a longer ride. Few mild hills in there (compared to my 0% gradient normal 6k ride in), but man my feet were cold. I had no clean long bottom bibs too, so went shorts... I got cramp twinges in both legs coming up a couple of hills, but otherwise it was a nice ride.
Just need to shift some weight, it's like dragging a dead body around, again.

I'll bet it's the court system that's out of date, and the police know they need to comply with the court's evidence requirements if it gets to that stage. There's no point taking it forward if the courts are going to say that a YouTube clip is inadmissible.

Clean? What's that! This time of year I generally wear bibshorts commuting (change them every 2 days, unless minging after 1), they're the shorts I wear year-round so have 4 pairs, over them I wear padless bib-tights which I generally only change once a week. So my outer layer (which gets filthy this time of year) doesn't get that smelly/sweaty (no pad) and dries out quickly. They're out of stock now on Wiggle but were on a sale for £29 which was an absolute steal!

The shorts and padless is certainly the way to go, last 2 years I wore padded bib tights & had padded thermal bib tights, they really limit your options, thanks Asprilla! (anyone heard from him? :()

Or, you could get some decent shorts and a pair of padless tights to wear over the top.
I've got 5 decent pairs of shorts (purchased in sales) and then a pair of dhb padless tights I wear through most of the winter and wash once a week, a pair of Rapha Deep Winter padless tights I wear when it gets really cold, and a pair of Endura Stealth Lite padless waterproof tights that I wear when it's biblical.

I've not got waterproof tights myself (yet), but found showerproof shorts & leg warmers great...

Not a file upload you can just throw your huge .AVI's at? :D

How have you found the footage comparison to the VIRB? Looking at it is clearer than mine in the daytime but I am recording on eco (720p). The VIRB looks better in low light...?

Idiot! Bet that was a bit squeaky bum! Rider on your shoulder too, or was he on your wheel?

I managed to scare an older lady who was riding a Brompton in wellies by saying "morning" as I rode past.

Made me lol! :D I scare other riders too, they seem surprised that someone fitter on a faster bike can somehow do more than 8mph!?

Was a guy I caught up with this morning, good pace @15/16mph so let him do his thing (until traffic had cleared a little and road was better) then passed him. I wasn't 'on his wheel' at any point, a good 5/10 feet gap. He'd shoulder checked me so assumed he knew I was there, still no response to my "Morning!" and acted a little surprised (intake of breath and wobble) as I passed at speed... Maintained my speed to be sure I dropped and gapped him! ;)

Yeah any cropping, editing etc. (which could include digital compression I guess?) counts as a break in the chain of evidence. As you say, it is out of date in a time of 4k cameras grabbing gigabytes of data over very short periods of time.

Anyone using Giro shoes? How is the fit? Looking at the Treble II with SPD-SL's. If I do go have to go back to SPD (for ease when commuting) then looks like they are compatible with both cleat types! :D

I tried some Privateers while looking for mine. Seemed very nice but I really needed a half size to fit well (I have weird feet, must have tried about 15-20 cycling shoes...). With Wiggle I'd just order a few sizes and send the rest back :)

Does anyone else get a lot of dry skin around and underneath their eyes from sweating? What do you do about it? I'm looking borderline leprosy at the moment.
