Rainbow Six: Siege (PS4 & Xbox One)

Amazon are matching the price if you don't mind waiting for delivery. I am going to play through some of what we get tomorrow before I spend more now after checking my budget:eek::D.

You know what spoils this game............players who take it far too seriously! I will be the first to admit i am absolutely rubbish at games like this. Today i accidentally tore down a barrier on a door, i meant to pick up my remote bomb - I just saw the "press x" message without really taking the time to read it properly  Criminal mistake and punishable by death apparently or so the guy who built it kindly shouted in a torrent of not so nice words. I of course immediately tried to rebuild it but no, that was not good enough, i didn't even get it half built before my body fell to the floor (he so kindly killed me) followed by some more lovely words of don't do that again from the player who build it.
This all happened during the "defend" stage of the match so it hadn't even really started at all!
Oh and the comments of me being only level 11, obviously the guy who got his knickers in a twist must have bypassed level 1 to what ever God like level he had achieved.

So yeah, people who take the game too seriously spoil it. They get themselves so worked up they ruin it for themselves to surely.

Sounds like my type of game, LOL

He was possibly ex-army(or thinks he/she's in the army) "teaching you a lesson" even though it's a game, where making mistakes isn't a real life death threat.

I want a good co-op game like this. I would want it on the xbox one. Is the community decent? Much voice chat? Is the game good? Is there a good tutorial?

Regarding bringing down a barricade someone built - I have to do it almost EVERY round of Bomb defence because idiots keep putting a barricade up between the 2 bomb locations. Especially people playing Castle class.

The amount of times I've died as the last man standing because I have to remove a barricade and thus just get shot as I'm doing so.

Then each time you remove it - then put it back up...you can almost see their brains struggling to comprehend what is going on!!

Give us a laugh at least!

Had a new recruit struggling to disarm the bomb after killing the last attacker the other day. He had 40 seconds and just stumbled around until we lost - my mate was laughing at his stupidity then the very next round, my mate had to disarm the bomb...he was pressing the melee button having seen cams of others...not realising there was an action button prompt. lol. (and he's level 38).

We lost the Match 3-2 :( haha (I could have told him like but thought it was funny)

I do like this game, but does need some bugs & net code ironed out, which I'm sure will come.

The problem for me is I know the netcode isnt great, so you have those games when you take bullets and have some good gun fights, then the next time you play you die instantly before you even see them and its not even a headshot. Pretty much like my old COD days, really depended on the host.

Having one game when you go like 8-2 then the next game going 0-3 really annoys me :p Still doesnt stop me from playing it though & I'm sure they'll make some improvements.

I had to remove that game mode with the 2 bombs from my multiplayer search options, didn't like it at all compared to Bomb & Secure area.

It's quite sad when a game designed for a squad acts up more and more with each party member you add!

I have the game on rent and would have considered buying it - was OK 70% of the time with 2 of us. then a 3rd starting to join in and it worked 50% of the time...then a 4th and in 90 minutes we had 2 rounds last night...neither of which offered renown or XP for the new players who needed it.

The servers are completely broken when playing with a squad.

Appointing a random host is the stupidest thing ever, they decide to leave mid game and its game over for everyone! Why why why did they think this was a good idea?

I mentioned this on their forums, and I was glad it wasn't just my squad having the problem, 4 or more players and we were getting games every 30-40 minutes, and when we actually got a game, at least 1 of our squad got kicked on the attack phase,

I really enjoy this game when it works, but it's rare it does

Patch Notes - Update 1.3
In-Depth Patch Notes - Update 1.3 - January 13th (PC) & January 20th (Consoles)

Today we are sharing our third update. This one is smaller because we felt we needed to quickly fix some issues. The changes described below will take effect on January 13th for PC and on January 20th for consoles, except the server tick rate improvement, the anti-cheating and banning policy improvements as well as the out-of-zone insta-kill option which is effective for all immediately (read below for details). This patch will be released on PC first because of the faster deployment process, in order to test the impact the fixes have and adjust if needed. Note that tomorrow, January 13th, Patch 1.2 takes effect on consoles. A much bigger patch, Patch 2.0, will be released at the same time as Season 1, on February 2nd. This update will be made available on PC and consoles at the same time.

Please refer to our post about our top priorities and known issues to see our current plans and steps we are taking to improve the game as we move forwards. Note that this update, Patch 1.3, will not fix all of our current top issues and that we are actively working on fixing them as soon as possible.

GENERAL TWEAKS & IMPROVEMENTS
(Live for PC and consoles, as of Jan. 13th)

HIT REGISTRATION IMPROVEMENTS

- Updated the server tick rate for console users
- With the goal of improving positioning and shooting replication, we had deployed a first update on PC in which the player position update rate is set to 60 times per second (vs. the previous 30). After testing, we are satisfied with its state so we are now deploying this update to all consoles as well.

ANTI-CHEATING IMPROVEMENTS
- Cheating countermeasures have been improved further.
- Banning policy update: all cheaters detected by the system will be banned permanently. No more three day ban for first offense.

EXPLOIT FIX: DEFENDERS EXITING THE PREPARATION PHASE
- Added a configuration that allows us to turn ON an insta-kill configuration for Defenders that go outside their zone during the preparation phase (this behavior should not be possible, but if exploits are found, the guilty shall be punished by a swift death!)
- We will be able to activate this functionality at any time. We will first be testing it on XB1 during the afternoon of January 13th (Montreal time). If it proves effective, we will be deploying this on all platforms later that day.

TOP COMMUNITY-RAISED BUG FIXES
(Live for PC on Jan. 13th, live for consoles on Jan. 20th)
Please be aware that this is not an exhaustive list and that we are only highlighting fixes that were done about the most commonly raised community bugs.

LEVEL DESIGN FIXES

- Fixed a bug that allowed players to exit their zone during the preparation phase (red wall). When transitioning from proning to standing position combined with putting up a barricade, players were able to go through walls. We believe this exploit is now solved. Please share your experience in this forum thread if you still encounter it after the patch (information we are looking for listed in opening post).

ONLINE FIXES
- Partial fix of Error [2-0x00000041]. Refer to the High Priority Issues in the Known Issues post for more information.
- Potential full fix of the loading screen freeze (smoke background). Refer to the High Priority Issues in the Known Issues post for full information.
- Potential full fix of the failed data synchronization issue. Refer to the High Priority Issues in the Known Issues post for full information.
- Session authentication operation requests are now using the per data center proxy instead of the Dev one.
- Improved error tracking, for easier issue identification from our side.
- Ranked match reconnection fixes for PC:
- If game was closed by pressing [x] or ALT+F4, the players will not be leaving all sessions anymore.
- Players leaving a Ranked match by pressing F10 will now be receiving reconnect & abandon messages.
- Players leaving a Ranked match by quitting with ALT+F4 will now be receiving reconnect & abandon messages.
- Various smaller connectivity and crash fixes.
