Wear a helmet kids!

Took a corner too fast this morning and fell off, I felt my head bounce of the road, hate to think what condition I'd be in if I wasn't wearing a helmet at the time.

Think I've done something to my ribs though, hurts to breathe. :o

If you can read this I'm stopped at the lights.

Ha. I had some lights just now that just wouldn't detect me as a cyclist despite having a massive ASL :( Was very thankful for the car that eventually arrived 3 mins after me.

Quite annoyed at my 810... It didn't record my entire ride just now. It seems to crash if I load a course after entering "Ride" mode and then I must have restarted it and forgot to actually press start.... That will teach me to put distance or time on the screen though I generally prefer to shy away from how far I've got left, how long I've been going!

The ASV was going to be my next port of call after the softshell windslam. Which LS bases are you using? I find most are rediculously overpriced for a base I'm probably only going to wear in winter. £30 on a base, I'm better to buy thicker jerseys for £37 and continue with my bases I wear for spring & autumn!?

I grabbed a few from Aldi, the Crane ones have been great for me! They were £15 I think? and when compared to similar merino wool base layers they seem like such a steal!

If you're fairly warm then the ASV by itself might be OK on it's own as it's very good a winter jersey, the fabric isn't as soft as the roubaix stuff, but that's just me being used to merino close to the skin.

The Aeron + windslam is also a good combo as the sleeves on the windslam are quite thin so work similar to a base layer with the windslam front.

Take it easy buddy, have you been checked over?

The Cannondale one isn't too bad actually, I didn't realise it was carbon so cheers for that. :) The FSA one looks best but it's too much money. The Thomson one is a rip off for alloy IMO.

I've had that with quite a few lights around here. I've wondered recently if stopping before the ASL is the way to go.

I had loads of Garmin crashes when my SD card was about to die. Since getting a new one it has been much more stable. Could be worth trying.

Von,

I hope you don't mind but I sent an email via trust about cycle2work! If you can help would be appreciated

Thanks

In this case I couldn't even be a typical cyclist and go on red as there was far too much straight and side road traffic :D Almost got off and walked across the crossing.

I'll try swapping out the SD card. I have noticed it's a bit slower to boot up recently but that's seemed to scale with the amount of courses I've added to it.

I've skipped across literally one or two lights after getting too annoyed. It's really irritating that the lights are set up as they are tbh.

Some around here that just never get triggered by a cyclist. I try not to skip, but sometimes you just have to unfortunately.

In other news, sent my bibs that were mullered last week (still not heard anything from the council) off to Rapha today for repair. Fingers crossed they'll come back quickly. Think going to need to bite the bullet and get another pair for Majorca though.

Hey OMS have you actually measured it yet. I'm seeing conflicting info around the net on the size - some saying its 27.2 but the synapse is 25.4???

Decided that I'm going to keep the Zondas and slap them on the endurace and put the Aksiums on the Bianchi to sell it. I like the Zondas and they're better spec than the Aksiums, would be a shame to lose them.

If a light isn't triggered for you, you can push the pedestrian crossing button if there is one there and that will activate the lights for your lane after any "pedestrians" have crossed.

I'm going to get the Praxis sleeve as I'll be using Campagnolo Chorus. I've read thats the best creak protection

As per the other thread, the Praxis sleeve won't work as the BB shell is not a uniform width. The shell is wider in the middle so there's nothing for the collet to expand against. I got the KCNC PF30 instead. It screws together but doesn't expand so shouldn't have that issue.

Here is a link to a question I asked on Weight Weenies about the seatpost. The guy bought from Paul's and built up

Another annoyingly early morning, probably another minimal lunch too and a late finish. Exam season is super tedious. I could quite easily go in and manually give all the students a first and not have to mess around with all these extra hours. I don't get why that's such a no-no

Pretty ridiculous that you have to resort to that however :/

Just wondering, how many people use the cycle scheme through work ?

I'm on my 2nd (orbea mountain bike and cube peleton).

I will do my last scheme this year with accessories, want a garmin 810 plus some other bits, probably spend around the £700 mark.
