The joys of Fiesta ST ownership.

Ford could help matters by designing the ST and RS panels/bumpers so that they don't fit on the standard cars. Then there would be no point in the chavs stealing them.

So they won't fit properly, like most other bodykits chavs put on their cars.

OP, sorry to hear the news. Gutting. Strange that a relatively old model is being targeted though.

Gutted dude! :(

They've really done a number on the wings!

EDIT - Have a thread on the OC?

The mk6 is cheap to buy, fun to drive, loads available in good condition and reasonable milage and can be easily insured in the smaller engine form. All perfect for younger drivers.
Hence the ST parts being sought after :(

Friend had this happen to his "Limited" Edition Corsa. Stole the whole front end of the car, bonnet, lights, wings, grill the lot.

They just smashed the window, popped the bonnet and unbolted the lot.

If this is outside someones house, how do you not hear that?

Best way to prevent this is park with the bumper right up against a wall, or another car.

They can still steal the rear bumper but at least it's not as expensive to replace and it's still safe/legal to drive it.

Using the same logic, it could happen to any car of a similar age in that case, not just Mk6 Fiestas.

It's your location not the car :(

This to be honest.

I made it clear to my mrs when she had her ST that there was a very good chance of this happening. She parked it in a car park all day while she went to work too. Lucky nothing came of it but I read about it happening all the time.

The latest Fiesta's are also targeted and very easy to steal as well via the OBD port. Again Essex is particularly bad.

After this the car is going to be garaged when not in use :(

Where abouts in Sheffield was this?

I'm from there originally and car crime was always fairly high (as I experienced a few times myself over the years). Don't live there anymore but I do worry a bit when I travel back up to visit parents and friends.

A lot of bumper sellers in Bradford on gumtree and eBay.

Same problem with VW/skoda RNS satnavs. Again, most sellers are based in Bradford/Sheffield. Those on eBay are also selling countless bottles of fragrance. Blatant handling.

Grenoside

Normally a rather quiet suburb near Hillsborough without much in the way of crime but it's surrounded by some less than favourable areas :(
