Who said I was referring to Ahleckz's post? Example:

As for ****faced. It breaks forum rules with ****, it's that simple.
So your photo breaks the forum rules no? would it be censored in the random image thread?

It's meaning is "male chicken" in a non-sweary context therefore surely can't be acceptable as a body part - as that would them push it into sweary territory and how can you have a sweary entry that you can't post the name of in the forum?
I can't see how it works both ways

I can't type **** or **** on the forum therefore both beers can't be valid - if you take their context into account, one means male chicken, the other is a term for being drunk - so both non-sweary but still unable to be posted on here, and both not referring to body parts.

Hence as mentioned, so many times before and yet again.... the gamble.

You takes your chance, you might win or you may not. The fail safe in failure being player debate/vote and possible poll.

There is supposed to be an element of fun in the competition.

I don't see why we can't say - slang terms are allowed or, slang terms are not allowed, doesn't really take the fun out of it!!
From previous rounds we have discovered that foreign words aren't allowed, or will they be allowed in some rounds and not others?
It would be easy to clarify for future rounds without having any impact on the competition

Context, what does your forum name imply?

my forum name doesn't contain any word that can't be typed on the forum

read it how you like (it was a name i put on a dinghy when it had to be registered for a license)

Don't understand your point anyway, if it's to do with the context of the word that's fine but then if the context used for posting it doesn't meet the theme of the round how is that being judged?

You're absolutely correct, it doesn't.

Yet if there were such a thing as 'r_sole ale' it might have been an entry (no pun). Now, ******** can't be typed but a case of that fine beverage can, *********.

Problems problems... sigh

My forum name doesn't contain a sweary or a word that is a body part, so I'm not sure what your point is?

Will entries containing words/phrases that are not allowed on the forum (no matter the context) be deemed as valid if they meet the theme?

If the word that is deemed as a swear in it's slang form (on here), which is also the reason it meets the theme, is that acceptable? (i.e. you can use the same word for multiple meanings)

Are slang words and phrases acceptable?

Can names containing words that can't be posted on the forum be used in all rounds?

now, I don't see where the difficulty is in saying yes or no to those questions

Do we need a poll? The only one we're really contesting is Ahleckz which having thought about it, should be allowed. Its a commonly referred to body part around the world even if it is slang. As DJ points out, it was risky.

I think using slang words should be quite easy if it well known in various parts of the country. Its using the more local versions that would be deemed more risky, but as a fully grown ape, you should be aware of that.

And I don't think Urban Dictionary should be used to back up your claim.

Slang has been used in previous competitions, I don't see why it should be any different now. As already stated before and again now, if you feel your entry is valid even though it's slang, then enter it.

If I (as judge) deem it to be valid you get the points. If I say, nope. Then it goes to player vote and possible GD poll.

As for what may or may not be able to be typed, all other forum rules apply. The exception being Round X where edits will be carried out.

Thank you for seeing what I've obviously being failing to explain to others.

So why is **** able to used?

I accept it's slang, so we are saying that's fine, but it can't appear on the forum as it's deemed a sweary by the forum rules

If you go back to page one, yeah that far back and see my reasoning for giving 0 points. What does it say? Let me save you the time..

'This would be fine for Round X'

That's what it says, just the same as Feek's entry.

Now in my summary, I clearly stated it was I that edited Ahleckz picture to remove ****. This was my mistake (I've held my hand up in the summary) as beaver could be the entry? Also the phrase used in the entry by Ahleckz relates to tilting your hat at an angle, it's not swearing. Feek's entry is swearing.

Hence why the poll at present would consist of just Ahleckz's entry.

the summary on the first page has been changed to allow one of entries containing a word not allowed on the forum, that's the point! I agreed with that summary, it's just that then it changed

right so you have removed the sweary from the one entry? and the actual entry is for beaver? not ****? and the fact the context doesn't relate to an actual body part is neither here nor there?

with feeks entry if that had been ****-faced rather than ******** then presumably that entry would have stood because if you remove the sweary bit it's just faced and the context of it is just being drunk so that's ok too?

and if i entered a beer for the next round called something like ******* **** **** **** ipa it would be fine because after words not allowed on the forum are removed it still says ipa?

As I've said before I don't mind the way it's been scored but would just like to clarify the reasoning

So after all this you don't mind how it's been scored?

As for the rest, take the gamble. No one else appears to have an issue, that I can see?

I've said that previously, the scoring isn't an issue if you can explain the issues behind it - the summary on post one was fine, it was then subsequently changed a couple of times for differing reasons - you will see the questions I have asked are not disputing the scoring but asking for explanations of why certain things are allowed or not

For what it's worth, I took the gamble with Beard (I argue that my manliness is down to the beard and that it's a body part, but know that others won't see it the same)... I could have gone safe with another one, but that's not the point of why I signed up to this. For me, it's all about an excuse to try new and exciting beers. I'd go out and drink my one again so that's all that really matters to me..

Anyway, onwards and upwards to round I.
