Did anyone have any issues with constant disconnects last night? I was constantly getting disconnected while doing hard mode missions and DZ in the end I gave up. Thought it might be my wifi but the wife is the first to complain if the wifi has a funny 5 mins and she never had any probs at all last night

I had one disconnection during a mission.

All this talk of people hitting 30 and here I am still not even at level 10 having a right ole laugh.

I keep getting side tracked by random encounters and scouting for phones. Only done three of the main missions... :D

Big thanks to Tl_Venom too. Doing the police academy mission on hard, final encounter, me, Terribear and Frodders all down to yellow enemy rushers and he somehow managed to take them all down with a sliver of health and revive us all to save the day

Well done that man!

;) Thanks for the shout out mate, it got pretty wild as I had hardly anything left in my inventory! Glad we finished it

Is anybody else addicted to the DZ? I don't want to do missions anymore :(

The Dark Zone is great fun. But i've deliberately been avoiding it so far as you don't rank up.

Any XP you earn in the dark zone gets turned into DZ XP and levels up your DZ rank instead.

That and the fact the DZ loot at this stage is no better than the PVE loot. Its just easier to use the missions in the PVE areas to rank up and go visit the Dark Zone later on.

That being said, I'm now rank 24 and top of the current bracket. I've piled on the firearms in my currently build and doing 23k DPS. More than most level 21s will be doing :D

Didn't have any last night and was playing from about 6pm until 12am.

Having played this in a group for the first time last night, have to say my opinion on my experience in the BETA has changed drastically. Was loads of fun!

Game is epic and starting to love it even more now.
I love the missions and for it being set in the city there is enough difference in them to make each one feel unique.

Last night had an epic firefight with the mission just out on the street. We got pinned down by a couple of marks men and kept getting rushed. My random team could not stop laughing we where getting destroyed!! We did managed to fight though it and took care of the yellow marksmen 1 at a time then flanked and suppressed the named marksman.

Yes the normal quests and collection stuff is reptative but you can rip though them on the way to the missions.

Most of my time has been wasted playing round with my gear and clothing lol
Really hope they can provide enough end game content at 30 as I feel it's really worth sticking with.

I'm not rushing, with the view that the first major update is in April I want to hit 30 just in time for that and for the game to hopefully get a flood of end-game content.

The loot tables might be the same, but i find loot drops way way faster in the DZ.

I got 4-5 blues in one extraction after about 20-25 minutes compared to zero running missions for 2 1/2 hours.

Can anyone explain to me how the 'tiers' of the dark zone work? I'm level 14 and enjoying the game and understand most of it. however;

Going from South to North are DZ01 - DZ06 and things get progressively harder. With recommended levels to explore that area. Are people of any level freely able to roam between the different areas? E.g can a level 20 come to DZ01 which is 10-14 I believe?

Or is it an entirely different instance? Which gets confusing. As if one instance is for players 1-14. DZ06 (the hardest area) will always be off limits to them? Well not off limits but they will never be able to kill anything in that area.

Also heard that at 30 the whole DZ is scaled to 30?

I don't know how the zones work pre30 as didn't go in, assume it just scales in level mobs similar to 30.

However, DZ has brackets, so 1-14 means only level 1-14 (normal level, not DZ level) will be in there, i.e. no level 30's can go in and gank you. At level 30 there is only one bracket, 30-30. The zones in the level 30 bracket scale, so DZ05-06 has stronger (level 32 elites) enemies, DZ01-02 has level 30. I assume this will be the same for the other brackets (albeit different levels).

Thanks; it is a bit strange. I was level 14 and went into DZ06 and found the mobs had skulls as levels (So guessing they are extremely high). Seems weird at the lower brackets having access to all that DZ space and most of it you will never be able to touch, even with a group of 4...

All areas of the Dark Zone are bracketed in regards to other players.

I'm currently rank 24 and in the level 21 to 24 bracket. Next is a 25 to 29 bracket and finally a rank 30 only dark zone.

Within your bracket, the Dark zone will scale into different levels of PVE enemies. DZ01 will have the easiest, DZ05 will have the hardest. Hover over the map and it will tell you what level the enemies will be in there.

Players however cannot move between brackets. So yes you may find level 20 enemies as a level 14 in DZ05, but you won't find level 20 players in there. Your player bracket (eg 21-24) is the same for all Dark Zone areas DZ01 right up to DZ05.

Go in DZ05 on anything but the level 30 dark zone and you'll likely find that all the enemies are stupidly difficult and one shot you, and you'll likely find no other players stupid enough go there :D

Agreed, I think they should tone down the scaling of difficulty in the PVE enemies. There's no point having different dark zones for everybody in 4 level groups, only then for DZ05 to be too high for everybody right up until they get to max rank or very close to it.

eg level 13-16 dark zone bracket having level 24 enemies in DZ05. Nobody at level 16 is going to take on level 24 mobs.

What's to stop a group of say 8 of you working together using prox coms to take on an area of higher level DZ mobs? Maybe that's the thinking?

The terminology needs to be observed - the game refers both to your LEVEL and RANK. Level applies outside the dark zone and rank is within. So if you are level 1-14 you have a different dark zone sandbox than someone who is 15.

Then within your level bracket, you have rank zones with DZ01 at the bottom being the easiest and DZ06 at the top near Central Park being the hardest.

I think that's correct.

Very true. However DZ rank 1-14 at the north most part (DZ06) has NPC’s that are level 25+ I believe. The confusion, at least my confusion, is that why this even exists? A group of 4 level 14’s will never be able to take down such NPC’s.

Rank doesn’t really play a factor (apart from unlocking gear). A level 14 Rank 1 or a level 14 rank 30 still will not be able to take down anything in DZ06?

Its obviously there to gate progress to keep fresh content/environments so you have to do the PvE before you can really progress to DZ05/DZ06.

Ultimately once youve hit level 30 those 2 DZs are where youll be spending pretty much all your DZ time - no point in playing DZ01 with NPCs half your level and no doubt DZ05/06 will have the best loot drops - its basically DZs EGC...

ps3ud0

Haven't you got that backwards? EDIT: No, I think you're right and ps3udo clarified it. You need to be working outside on the level up before you have free reign in the DZ.

I'm going to buy XBL gold in a minute and go and have a look myself what all the fuss is. :p
