Has anybody had any problems with Mayhems X1?

16/10 tubing on 16/11 fittings should be fine as the outer diameter is the same, so the outer part is exactly the same diameter and the compression fitting will be exactly the same size. Only difference is the tube will be a tighter fit over the barb, which is no bad thing anyway.

No it won't fit.

The wall of 16/10 is thicker than that of 16/11, and you won't be able to tighten the compression cap.

Hmm so will this effect mine? I've got the primochill tubing recommended by most on here and chose the pastel ice white mayhems liquid.

Can anyone advise another liquid to use?

Please contact our support team via www.mayhems.net. We will replace your tubing and coolant free of charge with our own tubing that has not shown any issues and is not based on PVC which is susceptible to leaching. We will also include the new support kit with the replacement coolants and tubing which is basically a full blitz cleaning system.

When you contact our support team please include a link to here so they can make a record of it.

As for the build up i can confirm that the coolant is doing its job as it is picking up any residue and holding it in the fluid as it is supported to do. This is then being caught up in the fin array. The coolant is doing what it is support to do and that is suspend any crap in the system ready for a flush out which needs doing with regular maintenance.

Please remember Mayhems honors its warranty no matter what and never blame any one for any mistakes a user or manufacturer makes. If its our fault will will do our best to copy any issues and then resolve the issues (if we can). Please use our support team to your full advantage, that is what they are there for :).

**D1craig Pastel Ice white is a different product and doesn't contain the same chemicals as XT1. X1, Pastel are different from XT1.

Thanx for quick response. I am beginning to think this build was going to be a never ending loop of faults and silly mistakes.

Just upgraded to x99 last week and, on cleaning my CPU Block ready for my x99 build l also had a dark Blue gunge build up in the jet plate of the block and also from my Radiator when drained.

Did not catch this thread till last night worst luck as my X99 build is H2o custom cooled using XT-1 Coolent Concentrate and Primochill Primoflex Advanced Black Tubing.

Mayhems say they will replace coolent and tubing but they only sell clear tubing as l prefer Black tubing with a clear coolent due to mishaps using dyes in the coolent.

Will Mayhams refund the cost of my Primochill Black Tubing?

Could Mayhems provide a Reference Number to quote for the members of this forum when opening a ticket in your Support Centre to help move things along when your Support Team deal with this specific problem?

Im really sorry we cannot refund another companies tubing just give you some thing better. We do our own due diligence (to the best of our ability) at our end and produce compatible products that all play nice we each other. Primochill do make nice tubing and there is a warning on there site saying not to use a certain type of coolant so there covering there own asses.

Sometimes it takes time for companies to find fault with products and they then release this information on there own sites. As said the coolant is doing what it is supposed to do and that is suspend crap in your system. We have Sold XT1 for over 6 years now and its never changed from the day we first made it. This is the first time we have heard of an issue with XT1.

I took the new photos, just after 3 months of using the blitz kit pro and using 2 XT-1 clear in 4L of DI water.

I have 2 separate loops:
CPU loop = DDC12W pump, CPU block, 120 rad and 360 rad
GPUs loop = DDC18W pump, 3x GPUs blocks, 120 rad, 240 rad and 360 rad

Hi, sorry but you only sell clear tubing which l don't use l prefer to use coloured tubing rather than a colouring dye as users have had problems with dyes in the past.

That is a very kind offer but going by what the other's have said regarding tubing sizes, you don't do any tubing in my size and I really don't want to replace 20 or so fittings to accommodate your tubing as that will cost me even more. My loop isn't the average loop with everything inside the pc case. I have my radiators in a box on a windowsill, my pump, res and fan controller in another box and 5-6 meters of tubing and 12 feet of 15mm copper pipe in the loop. I also have no trust in your coolant any longer. This has happened to me 4 times now, all since using X1 and I am sick and fed up with having a couple of days downtime everytime while stripping everything down and cleaning. I never had any problems when I was using deionised water and Liquid Utopia. I also ordered yet another Blitz Pro kit from OCUK yesterday.

Yup that is a tubing issue.

Yup that is a tubing issue.

End of last year I got in touch with Mayhems and I was told that was a Radiator flux problem and I was advised to get the blitz kit. I got the blitz kit pro, 2 more bottles of XT1 clear and now it looks like this.

Looking on your website, you don't have 16mm/11mm tubes (7/16") or do you?

Anyway, I've opened a support ticket on your website.

I have had a dig about in my parts cupboard and found a bag with ten 1/2" compression fittings in it. I can replace the rest with 1/2" barbs as they can't be seen anyway. I have also had a good think about the replacement coolant and for one reason or another there are other combinations of tubing and other coolants that are just going to put me back in the same position, so if this kind offer still stands I would like to go ahead with it please.

After eating much humble pie I have opened a ticket with Mayhem's and thrown myself at their mercy. :o I have nothing to lose and it could actually put a stop to this cycle of blockages.

I'm not sure whether this is helpful or just muddying the water but I'll leave you to decide. I tried the Primochill tubing when I first moved from 11/8 to 13/10. Wasn't impressed at its flexibility or ease of use. Tygon is more expensive but I've got stuff that's at least five years old and I only changed it as my fitting were incompatible with new blocks (long thread, shallow block). I've never had any gunk build up in intervals of years but I've been using EC6 clear - no dyes to stain the carpet or settle out.
Tygon is used in labs so it's available in quite a range of sizes and I believe it's available in at least clear, silver and I think black.
Hope that's of help and it's nice to see a manufacturer responding to problems. Not jumping on the giving Mickelson grief bandwagon, just hoping that an alternative tubing may help once the coolant is replaced.

Have just made a ticket for a warranty claim with Mayhems.

Not happy about them not replacing my Primochill Black tubing with the same, Mayhems only have clear tubing.

should have stayed with EC6 Clear Premixed Coolent you live and learn.

We can only offer what we have. We cannot fix other companies issues only resolve what we can. You can still open a ticket and we can still help you so you don't feel so unhappy and at least walk away with some very good support from us.

We are going to edit our text on our site stating that Primochill do not support XT-1 so less customers will get confused. XT-1 is still one of the "best" coolants out there to date and we have sold in access of 10 tones of it over the years.

Were not here to take your money and run :). We love water cooling more than most.

Mine is actually X1 coolant not XT1. I realised it when I dug the 5 ltr container out for my support ticket yesterday. I used XT1 in concentrate form before all this started and then bought the X1 direct from Mayhems as it was much cheaper buying in bulk. I have asked for the title to be changed.

I have had a great response from Ian with regards to my ticket at Mayhem's so far.

I don't think any company would give you what you want, their offer is already very generous to be honest.

Mayhem XT-1 coolant based on Ethylene Glycol as well giving the same issue..

Yes its a nice offer one can only ask, as l prefer to use coloured tubing rather than a dye.
