Has anybody had any problems with Mayhems X1?

Mine is actually X1 coolant not XT1. I realised it when I dug the 5 ltr container out for my support ticket yesterday. I used XT1 in concentrate form before all this started and then bought the X1 direct from Mayhems as it was much cheaper buying in bulk. I have asked for the title to be changed.

I have had a great response from Ian with regards to my ticket at Mayhem's so far.

I've got great response from Ian as well, just the ticket system is not the best :p

Mine is the XT1, but the major problem is that I contacted them before and I was told that the residue was flux from the rads, so I spent money "solving" the problem as they advised me and now they are saying is a tube problem.

But again, so far they are providing a great support, lets see how it ends.

Ian actually taught me the basics of computing a long time ago (this is Mick). From there i grew working in the IT industry (https://www.linkedin.com/in/mayhems?trk=hp-identity-photo) me and Ian have since been long time friends. As Mayhems has grown Ian has been there to always support and help. Hes the perfect candidate for our support team and has a calm manner to boot. He knows Mayhems products in side out hence why hes the main guy for support.

You are all in good hands.

Mayhems has grown rapidly over the last few years to a point were its pretty mental in both our offices, we now ship a lot of stuff word wide e.g only last week we shipped over 150+ blitz kits (not inc support kits), god knows how much tubing and lets just say I have to produce in access of over 1.5 tones of fluids every 5 days. Our RMA is less than 0.001% which even though there are issues they are very minimal but in our teams eyes still not good enough. Stick with us we "WILL" sort it one way or another......

Mayhems is the modern incarnation of a cottage industry, home grown from the ground up and our customers are our no1 priority.

with them RMA numbers i am sure it is very difficult to get 1st hand practice and feed back which is the only real way to improve things.

so Mayhems is there a new response to the OP claiming this is his coolant reacting with the tubing now that he has discovered it is a different coolant - X1 not XT1?

Yes it is hard with low RMA count how ever replicating issues is the the hard bit. The main problem for us is getting user to send us samples back so we can check them over and get real data for comparison. How ever Ian is working on that.

As for the second part of you question its out of my hands now the support team is working on it. If we get samples (which i hope we do) we can look over them and check out what the issue is and go from there.

Up until that post I didn't imagine that it was such a big operation. I know your stuff is quite widely sold through many different retailers these days but 1.5T of liquid every 5 days is a significant amount.

The ticket is progressing and I have provided all the info they asked for including what the loop consists of (makes and models of blocks, pump, res, rads etc), what insert and jetplates are in the cpu block, cpu and gpu temps, coolant temps and if I had any of the coolant left which I have quite a bit left plus what's in the loop. Haven't heard anything from Ian since yesterday morning although he may be going through the info I gave him. It's also a bank holiday weekend so I don't expect to hear from him until Tuesday.

so did you say you did use XT1 before but are now only using X1?

if so do we think the XT1 could have caused a layer of protection around the tubing to have been removed?

That's not possible on mine because with each of the four times it has happened to me I have replaced all of the tubing. It's cost me a bloody fortune!!

DI water and a bit of Nuke, never had a problem.

Mayhems ... Tried it 4 times. Had dust floating in the bottle / discolouration, sludge etc.

And The Blitz cleaning kit was as good as Fairy Liquid, but with more bubbles, took about 6 flushes to clean it out.

Mayhems coolant does not create gunk, they either suspend so called gunk in your system or they block said gunk and keep it in place. Tubing is the issue mainly for sticky residue. If you do not regularly maintain your system then expect problems. If you do have issues use the support for help.

Think of it as keeping you house tidy if you do not clean up, mess happens and eventually your overloaded, if you keep your home clean regularly you'll have no issues.

Tubing is a throw away item (it always has been) it should not be expensive. Mayhems tubing is not PVC based and if it was, it would be even cheaper than it is now.

Support for Mayhems products are at www.mayhems.net

There is a small but growing knowledge base here -> http://support.mayhems.net/kb/index.php and it will grow the more users use the ticket system and we resolve common issues or questions are answered. We will also start pointing out issues with components and what not to use.

Just got a email from the ever helpful Ian and he is sending me everything I need to clean my rads, new tubing, new coolant plus pure water. I have to send them samples of my used and unused coolant in the pre-paid envelope he is also sending in the package. Mayhem's support has been awesome and Ian in particular has been on the ball from the very begining. This has been by far the best customer service I have ever had from a manufacturer. :)

Very nice, have just sent Ian the requested information to night.

After sending Ian the requested information late Tuesday night.

Everything was sorted the following day, Ian is sending me some Mayhems Ultra Pure H2O instead of tubing, Blitz Kit and a refund for my XT-1.

Well done Ian realy nice customer service keep it up.

Got my delivery from Mayhems today, Ian's customer support have been amazing so far.

I will not be able to clean my loops for at least the next two weeks, it is not easy to take apart them (5 rads, 3 gpus blocks, 2 pumps, 2 reservoirs and cpu block):
CPU = DDC12W pump + dual bay reservoir, CPU block, 120 rad and 360 rad
GPUs = DDC18W pump + 250ml tube reservoir, 3x GPUs blocks, 120 rad, 240 rad and 360 rad

The 16/10mm tube has a really tight fit on my 16/11mm fittings, don't know if I should try to use them or get new 16/11mm tubes, will wait for their advice on that.

16/10 will do, should have used warm water to softing the tubing brfore fitting, you may have to cut the tubing off when it comes to striping down.

+1> Ian's customer support have been amazing so far.

The problem is not to fit the tube on the fitting, I'm not able to tighten the compression cap.
