You know what, I'm a fat *******. I have pretty thick skin to this stuff so maybe somebodies seeing something here I'm not. But honestly I can think of a load of ways you could do a gym ad that's actually offensive.

That is not in the least, it's not upsetting, it's not offensive, about the only thing I can against is it's not funny either.

What do you mean you're not offended? I'm offended you're not offended. Infact I'm willing to be offended on your behalf. I'm offended!

n.b this is how this political correctness stuff works, right?

even inaminate objects are ****lords these days....

Looks like the most exercise a lot of them had for years.

So i assume the natural response to over-eating in a single sitting is to be "disgusted" with oneself?

Right? So why cant we forcibly condition these people into feeling that aswell?

"One passer-by said the poster was "ridiculous" and he would "rip it down" because "being a big lad myself, it upsets you".

But he didn't because it was too far away

Speaking of tight fitting clothes... What is with this trend I see with larger women for the last few years or so who don't have the figure. They aren't crazy huge but nowhere near slender yet wear stupid tight like tank tops and skin tight jeans with everything bulging and stupidly dyed red hair... Their legs always look like they are ready to burst as if they spent 10 minutes crawling on their back trying to pop into them.

Because women (especially in the UK) are know for dressing the body they want, not the body they have.

Oh why is there so much hatred toward us little fatties?

We fat people are gentle and harmless creatures, and we only wish to pursue our happy and peaceful way of life. We are not hurting anybody else out there.

I actually pity "fatty hater" because he does not know the joy of being soft and warm and cuddly. The ultimate ecstasy of have a nice great big soft plump round body with smooth baby soft flesh that jiggles and quivers all over as we move about. The simple joy of eating until our big round bellies are full and the happy and sleepy contentment that comes from having an over-stuffed belly.

Ah! I just love being a soft and weak little cream puff! I love being limp and floppy! I feel so calm and relaxed.

We have found the key to true happiness, the key that unlocks the secrets of the mystery and the magic of massive obesity!

Let us all rejoice as our nice soft weak bodies spread out when we sit down contently at the table to eat.

Errrrrm, are you broken?

Also I am offended by your assumption that fat means weak and by this post in general, it creeps me out.

Hurting the NHS. They spend a fortune treating obesity related issues.

Hurting loved ones, nobody wants to see somebody they care about slowly killing themselves.

simple view here :)

when I say fat I don't mean the little podge that a normal person has I mean 'clinically obese' fat where it's rolling over their trousers when they try and fit in a size too small pair.
My views are pretty simple:
fat person at the gym - give them all the encouragement and support they need, they're making an effort to get back into a healthy condition.
fat person due to medical condition - doctor should be trying to help them where possible (not always possible)
fat person due to laziness (and in many cases on benefits) - don't really have the right to complain about their own life choices (bad diet and no exercise) when it's scientifically proven that being overweight is not good for you. Not to mention the additional strain on things like medical facilities etc

As to the adverts, seriously if we got worked up over every little advert that offends 1 or 2 people we'd have no time left in the day for anything else. Theres being pc and then theres trying to make something which isn't acceptable acceptable by complaining about it like in this case..

If I'm honest I'm sick of all the 'it's ok to be fat' rubbish going on right now when it's just not healthy to be fat.

I agree entirely with this post.

I'm a massive fitness bore - but at the same time I accept that there can be psychological and mental disorders which lead people to not look after themselves, or suffer from a type of body dysmorphia etc...

I don't think it's okay to be overweight, I don't think it's okay to be overly thin - anything that puts you at risk of illness or conditions is never going to be a good thing in my eyes.

Medical conditions aside, people have control over how they behave - even with a little bit of counselling - most people can get back on track.

I do not like this overly touchy feely "it's okay to be fat/thin/etc..." where we clearly know it is not okay.

That said, there is no need or point in purposely being offensive about it, though I found that advert childish but amusing at the same time, but not offensive in my opinion.
