Dirt Rally comes to Ps4 / Xbox One in april.

Nice review, hopefully I get my copy by the weekend!

Can I ask when you crash out on the narrow rally roads, is it like hitting a brick wall or is it quite realistic, only Ive not played a rally game for years and my last rally game was on pc and I remember if I left the rally track,.... well I just bounced back really. Seen a few videos where the snow banks flick up snow if your car gets to close.

There's No Bouncing back on Track unless you have the Luck of the Devil. :p You clip a snow bank & it'll drag you over off the road & **** you right up, Then correcting the car & getting it going again before the Auto correction 15 second penalty puts you back on track is a challenge in itself.
Clipping grass banks & Mud etc can cause massive spins that will **** your Stage times up as well & there is of course always the danger of completely destroying your car & having to retire. Even this is done pretty fare though as I managed to drag my car back on one of its rim yesterday where as another time the wheel disintegrated & I was forced to retire.

FWD Car - Went back for another rash of FWD & I was Completely wrong in my earlier post I s'pose I was just trying to be a RWD Hero :D The FWD first class motor I used was easy to drive compared to the RWD cars I've been using, Nowhere near as twitchy & you find yourself going much faster over the whole stage compared to RWD.
The game is coming to me though & you can feel teh improvements it makes in your own play teh more you play it, Damn good game so far.

I bought this on Tuesday but have only managed to play 2 stages

got my first achievement tho - rolled the car and kept going :D - records it to the console's DVR too (this might be commonplace but the first time I've seen it recording something automatically!)

I've got a few achievements & Rolling & carrying on was the one I laughed at the most that was once I shook my head to get myself together after the big roll :p

Been real busy today but I still managed to get an hours praccy in but rather than go Career I tried some Online events & did absolutely Pants, Don't think I even finished. It doesn't matter at all though as I'm in for the long haul now & really want to see how far I can get just using a controller.

Great game on PC, best rally game for years imo. Managed to get into the top 50 on a few of the tracks. Brutal difficulty but its so rewarding, it's all about learning each stage and mastering the cars.

Ok had a few plays and done an online league stage that I'm in and so far I think this is the best rally game Ive ever played!
Ive not played many mind you.

Do you guys have clutch override off or on?

and launch control at start, off or on?

Ive got everything else off but unsure about these assists.

cheers

The FWD can be an under steering mess when you first get on the game but once you get your head round what works they're a lot of fun. They want to be man handled and pushed hard.

I usually find, hard breaking with front brake bias and then accelerating hard out of the corner seems to help bring the front end round.

Absolutely loving this game though. Making my way through stages and getting a Ford in each decade. Currently on the Sierra Cosworth and it just so elegantly drifts around compared to the quite skittish Mk2 Escort. The escort was fun though and the suspension travel made things fun!

On the rally cross front I'm in a 207 but just waiting to unlock the upgrades to make use of it. Sorely needs some engine upgrades to be in with a chance of winning.

I went for the Escort then the Sierra Cosworth myself & pretty much thought the same, Escort larey as hell but the Sierra real stable. Sticking with the Fords/British it made it easier to choose my Engineers as I went for the Ford specialist & British manufacturer ones as it will cover both of them for the faster upgrade thingy.
Best sounding motor so far is still my first Alpine though as I just love that louder rattly old sound rather than the smoother whoosh sound the newer motors have been given.
Shame I have to have the co driver so loud though but I wouldn't get anywhere if I couldn't hear him properly.

Does clutch override in assists help when the car gets bogged down in corners?

I have it on but Im unsure if I need to map this feature to a button on my ds4.

I've played a couple of stages now, wow it's going to take some practice.

It's much more of a sim than Dirt 3.

I'm playing with no assists, cockpit view on a controller.

I'm just uploading my first stage ever to youtube, i'll post a link when it's completed - you can have a laugh at my driving.

It's about £33 on the Russian store.

Stage one (still processing, but it will eventually be 1080p60) --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gP9OlKSLJRA

50 seconds off eek. Game looks so solid. You got some decent speed towards the end though!

Thanks, I'm uploading the first 4 stages at the moment, i've got better each stage, but still crashing.

I think i managed a green section on stage 4, then it all went wrong :D

The game seems very good so far.

How do you purchase from the russian store, i can't find any guides to setting up a russian account

No need to setup a russian account, i just used my normal xbox account.

i bought 3500 rubles of gift cards from the russian microsoft store (normal login details).

bought 7x 500 rubles as i'm not 100% if they email the codes for the higher priced cards. Only the 500 had a download option in the basket.

http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msru/ru_RU/cat/Xbox-LIVE/categoryID.67038600

I used my normal bank card to buy, it was declined first time, then Barclays did txt me to confirm i did make the purchase. Bought again one minute later as per the txt, worked.

I used the address details from --> https://www.avforums.com/threads/bu...egions-please-read-faq-in-first-post.1846057/

Once the codes are emailed to you, go to xbox.com and change the country to russia, then redeem the codes.

Then find the game while the country is still on russia at the bottom and buy.

The game will start downloading on your Xbox.

I used Chrome and translated the pages, but had to copy some bits into a translate.
