What have you done to your car today?

Just seeing the photos of the car in that disassembled state makes me twitch a bit. Would love to undergo a project like that with someone who knew what they were doing, would be fascinating and I might actually learn something :)

That trim looks like it was refurbished by a pro!

;)

Buy yourself an older bmw and just take it too pieces. You learn pretty quickly how it all works, bit like advanced lego :P

Got my rubber mats delivered to work, it is much heavier than I thought and was a struggle to work the mile to the train station and then another mile the other end! Very awkward to carry, especially 1 handed with umbrella on the other hand.

Put them in and the car feels less premium...might just put it in the driver's side for now.

Looked at the weather forecast for tomorrow on the walk home from work as I'm in Lymington. Car is filthy so made an exec decision to wash it immediately because it's gonna be 13 degrees and prime roof down weather.

I've loved my rubber mats they've saved the interior big time this winter. You've bought them as the weathers turning good, get yourself some nice velour ones now.

The Volvo Carpet ones are fine mostly with a little worn where the heel is. from looking at it it looks almost perfect but when you pick it up and look from underneath you can see it that spot is thinner.

The carpets on the rest of the car is spotless, like brand new.

You are right about they are useful in winter though, and that weather is starting to turn okay again.

I've never liked rubber car mats, just look and feel awful IMO. Useful for the winter but I wouldn't have them year round.

Fitted new Bosch wipers to the Sportage, the old ones looked a bit worn. Hopefully they will be a bit quieter across the windscreen now.

Check your pollen filter, kids :eek:

Not sure when it was last changed in my car but it was pretty horrendous.

Dropped my car off with BBR for some upgrades/maintenance....

Valve spring upgrade (Supertech springs/Supertech Ti retainers)
Valve clearance check (may need to replace buckets...no shims on this engine)
Fit painted cam cover

Oh and these (with some added bits including an airbox, and mapping to suit).... :D

I was under the impression BBR mapping was bad and to avoid them at all costs?

According to who? :) They are generally regarded as the best (albeit most expensive) UK tuner for mapping the Mk3 MX5, and have done more development than anyone else. First to offer a supercharger, first to offer a turbocharger, first to offer a cam upgrade, first to offer a DBW throttle body kit...etc.

The supercharger kit they sold in the early days had problems where it would kill engines but that was not their mapping, it was a cosworth developed kit that they sold unchanged which had some hardware issues and an ECU add in box. Later BBR fixed the hardware issues and managed to get it mapped properly with Ecutek software.

Not me personally doing the work, but progress on the engine front to go along with all the other madness & the full bare respray

That pollen filter looks fine! ;)

You should have seen mine! It was jet black and FULL of leaves and feathers and every groove was brimming with dirt. No air was coming out of the vents full stop until I replaced it. I reckon it had been in there 4 or 5 years... :D

Got a quote from a local Vauxhall specialist for rear parking sensors / cruise control retrofit and onboard computer (range/mpg etc) enabling on the Wife's Zafira - £458, which I didn't think was that bad.

I still can't believe it doesn't have an MPG readout at least... :p

I've been in a MK1 Zafira and even that had an MPG readout. Admittedly it was (I think) an orange and black seven segment display... :D

You're telling me :D In this day and age thought everything had MPG readout, but apparently not - it is almost Poverty spec though "Exclusiv" - has the button, but just not coded up. Also has those weird 5 spoke steel wheels with alloy looking trims. :)
