Moto X Force

I know! It's like a time bomb waiting to happen. I couldn't hack it and had to dump the phone as I couldn't take the chance.

Shame really as the device was really good.

Better what you did than run the risk of returning to Motorola support, not having a phone for a month and then they send you a refurb

Exactly Mate I certainly didn't want to run the risk of that! Motorola isn't exactly well known for its superb customer support.

Tell me about it!

They were meant to be sending me an envelope to send my Nexus 6 back to them this was almost 2 weeks ago now, Good job I decided to send it myself through recorded delivery else I'd still be waiting now.

Sorry to hear about the problems guys, Glad I didn't bother getting one.

Not had a problem with mine yet but if I do I'll be dropping it back with CPW and telling them I want a swap there and then.

I've said before but ordered a Style off Motomaker in January and after a few days the order was put on hold. OK, so give them a ring. Well long story short after ringing them 3 times they could not give a monkeys if they sold me a phone or not. Cancelled the order in the end - but it's status is still on hold today. Bought one off Amazon but if that's their attitude selling you one then goodness help you if it goes wrong and has to be returned to them

I had a Motorola Razr HD Maxx the other year and cracked the screen. Rang them for a quote to repair it and they would not quote me unless I returned it to them. Then I'd have to either pay them to repair it or pay them to return it. Maybe fair enough but surely they'd know how much it was going to cost to repair it? Cracked screens are quite common after all. Why I keep buying Motorola I dunno :D

As above the brotect flexible screen protector works fine and sticks down with no bubbles etc. I got the diztronic tpu case which is fine and has a nice tight fit.

Is anyone else having problems with wireless charging? On a Samsung wireless charger it just keeps flickering charging every second on and off and with the cheapo 10 quid one off Amazon it keeps coming up with align with charger screen and gets to about 75% and is impossible to line up 100%. Also it doesn't charge through the diztronic case which is a pain :( any suggestions for maybe a stronger wireless charger?

No problem with my cheap wireless charger from Amazon, that number is the battery percentage currently on the phone though nothing to do with alignment.

I've had exactly the same issue as you Mate - twice to be exactly. I tried to order a Moto X Play and the order was put on hold as apparently there was a security issue which I called the support team and verified my details however the order was still on hold for several days afterwards. I got fed up and cancelled the order. I tried to place another order for the Moto X Style and exactly the same thing happened again. I don't know what is going on with Moto and their customer services, it's like they're doing you a favour with regards to buying their phones.

Shocking....I've never come across bad customer service like this from a major OEM, surely they are big enough to run decent customer services.

I'll think twice before I buy another phone from them again, although I do like their take on Android.

You never know for sure but this Moto X Style may be my last Motorola phone. Even if I do buy another it would be through Amazon. Though the Style is a good enough phone I can't help but feel I may be stuffed should it develop a fault.

When my order was put on hold I was told it was just a security check as someone with a similar name had also ordered a Moto X Style - what are the chances eh  Third call to them I just got the impression I was never going to see a phone from them. Could not have cared less. So stuff them, I'll buy a Samsung next time :D

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Tablet and really like it. Touchwizz isn't overly intrusive and anyway I use Nova launcher. True there is a load of bloat installed that I'll never use. Family member has a Samsung GS6 edge. Now I really like the Style's QHD display but it isn't as good as the amoled GS6 display. I know the Style is physically bigger then the GS6 but it also feels so much heavier. Not at all sure about the glass backs though.

That is some coincidence Mate. Sounds like BS to me from Motorola. You can't trust Motorola at all and I share your trepidation if your X Style developed a fault. Samsung is the way forward apparently they have cut TW a fair bit and you can't hold a candle to the AMOLED screen that Samsung manufacturer.

Is the X Style battery decent after the Mm update Mate? You can currently get the X Style for £288 excluding delivery. Is it worth it?

It's either the X Style or GS7 Edge if I can get the money together.

I was being stupid (in more ways than one!)

- Realised it was the battery percentage not percentage aligned!
- Realised I was only using a 1 amp charger rather than a 2 amp that my wireless dock requires!

All sorted now, and still enjoying the phone! Just hope I have no issues with it going by the above posts!

Sorry, missed your post here. Battery is better with MM. That is to say standby is better but I'm not sure it's all that better when you are actually using the display. But all told battery life is fine for me.

Yes it would be BS for sure. I never really did find out what was wrong with the order. The order is still on hold and suppose I was lucky they hadn't taken any money. I've a feeling should I use motomaker in the future the order on hold will come back to bite me on the ass :D

I vowed never to buy an HTC after my M7 was sent for repair 4 times and 4 times it came back unrepaired. Their support and authorised repair outfit were just idiots. Now Motorola or Lenovo could be on my banned list.

I've not really seen any reviews yet or even looked at one in a store, but I imagine the Gs7 edge could be a better phone than the X Style. We'll let's be honest, it will be. Going to cost a fair bit more. If I was looking for a phone the Gs7 would on the list. I dont like 2 year contracts or buying a phone that way. New sim free Samsung phones are going to be expensive to start with but no doubt will get cheaper. I may at some point sell the Style and buy a GS7 edge.

I should add and I keep forgetting, the glass backs of the Samsung gs6/7 put me off those phones and keep me at Motorola. Glass both sides I know for sure I'll end up cracking one side

It's cool no worries Dude. I'm pleased to read that the battery life is better with MM. I think that Moto will also be joing my banned list as well. I had the usual missions with them ordering the X Play.

I ordered on the 1st March, heard nothing so I called them on the 3rd March, apparently the order had been put on hold due to security reasons and they wanted my dob for some reason to proceed with the order. What a joke, next thing they will want is my blood type....

Anyway cut a long story short I gave them the details they asked for and waited a day...the order still hadn't been processed so I called to cancel the order. The person I spoke to sounded very dubious when I asked to cancel the order, anyway he proclaimed that he did cancel the order as I requested. Imagine my surprise I receive an email later on in the evening that my order had been put on hold....then a couple of hours later another email stating that my order had been processed and my device was being assembled.

Seriously Moto what are you playing at? This is possibly the worst company I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

They make it hard enough to order their range and when you do they make you jump through hoops an for what? Their devices aren't that great.

Needless to say this will be the last time I will be ordering from them.

I won't find the glass back on the S7 an issue as I had the Xperia Z3 and thankfully I didn't crack the back of it, however I guess in your line of work you will have to be extra careful.

I crossed the S7 off my list as I went to the 3 store and had a go of the S7 Edge and I wasn't that impressed with it, not to warrant spending £639 on the device.

Internet is full of folks grumbling about orders being put on hold. I think what really annoyed me was no one could give a monkies and all said something different. To me motomaker wasn't a big deal but would have been nice to have my own customised Style instead of standard black.

Had a quick look at the Samsung gs7 edge. It's OK but wasn't over excited. Far too expensive currently. You could nearly buy 2 Moto x Style's for the same money. It's the latest and greatest but £600+? Samsung (and others) seem to take ages to upgrade the OS. I have a Samsung galaxy tab s2 9.7 which I really like but have no idea when it might get marshmallow. Does it really matter? Probably not.

How are poeple finding their phone?

I work as an event tech on sites so phone is constantly in my pocket, getting knocked and bashed around so this phone's ruggedness with the waterproofing/resitance seems ideal.

Seems pretty rugged to me - I'm not one for intentionally dropping things to test the screen, but if it were to get damaged, their warranty is pretty damn flawless for screen breakage anyway.

Battery is epic. It's hard to explain how liberating it is to not need to charge the thing multiple times in a day, and even if it's at 50% there's no worry you'll be out of charge for another hefty number of hours anyway.

Main gripe would be reception, which I don't think is as good as on my Moto X 2013 - mobile standby is probably the biggest battery drainer, on Three.

I've needed to restart the phone more than my Moto X 2013 too, as it stutters and freezes more often. But I don't know if that's Android, or the phone itself.

All in all, I'd really recommend it, mainly due to the battery and the rugged screen/warranty. But I did get it in a CPW sale for a huge chunk off the £500 asking price.

Thanks, yeah bettery is a bonus for me too. I can work 15hours in a field/forest. Forgot that about three, that's often the biggest battery drain on my current phone.
My Lg G3 is dying with 2x common issues of failing digitizer and charging port, so while I was waiting for the May announcements to released I'm really itching to just take the plunge anyway.

I don't know about the water resistance rating - I didn't think that was part of the Moto X Force? I recall it being some confused info about the Play/Style which was then applied to the Force by some sites, but not officially by Motorola.

The nylon back should work quite well for you if you're out and about in terms of grip (though it's not as grippy as the leather) but the weave can trap dirt really quite easily. Might not concern you, but it may be annoying if it's likely to be getting acquainted with the forest floor!

It has no waterproof rating but does have a water resistant coating applied to the inner workings iirc so it should stand up to getting a little damp but don't go fishing it out of puddles expecting it to work.
