I thought I explained it quite well in my last post.
The word 'religion' and 'cult' are not freely interchangeable and if you choose to call a major world religion a cult you are making a disparaging point about it. I am not demanding words, I would just like to see respect.
A cult is a religion without enough power, a religion is a cult with enough power. If I start a religion and 20 people believe in it and no-one cares and we have no power, it would be called a cult. If 200 million people believed in it and we had therefore had enough power, it would be called a religion even if it was exactly the same thing it was when only 20 people believed in it and it was called a cult. The distinction is purely about power.
I don't respect religion, regardless of how much power any particular religion has. The idea that a religion with enough power automatically deserves respect is one I disagree with.
