Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

I'm quite amazed how they have this looking on PS4. It's stunning and really shows how far unified hardware can be pushed. I'd hate to think what GPU a PC version would require....

Yeah the lighting is so good. I love how the reflection from the glass on picture frames looks and how the shine on wooden flooring or tiles adjusts as your view changes. Looks so realistic :D

Got to the start of chapter 11. As much as I'd love to keep playing well into the wee small hours, I'm back at work tomorrow, so I guess its time to call it a night.

So far though, excellent game. All the charm of the previous games with very nice visuals.

Finally caved and bought a ps4 pretty much solely to play this game. Sounds tremendous from what everyone's saying. Picked up the console at 8pm got back from footy at 9.30, hastily unboxed and setup, signed into my ancient PSN account from my PS3 days, installed UC4 and now downloading the patch. Will wait til tomorrow to give it a blast...can't wait :D

Dying to play this but sold my PS4 a while back. Going to hang fire until after e3 and see what neo brings.

On chapter 9 and now off to bed, never played an Uncharted before but enjoying it, wouldnt say its the best game i've played though some "stale" moments, however probably the best visuals i've seen. I aso cant see the game time being more than 15 hrs gameplay either but Naughty dog delivered once again.

I'm finding the motion blur quite distracting! The moment you start panning the camera (even relatively slowly) everything turns into a blurry mess.

It's not something that's bothered me in any of the previous games or the Last of Us.

On the bright side, I haven't noticed my Playstation huffing and puffing (old model).

Up to chapter 6, most of which has been walking around fairly empty levels, which is a shame. Seems that they're trying to make the game easily accessible to people new to the series, however I would have preferred being thrown in at the deep end.

There's the odd bit of stutter as well which is a little distracting.

Graphics are on par with Rise of the Tomb Raider, less complexity to the environments and on a smaller scale, but better character detail and very impressive facial animation.

Gunplay is weaker than Rise, with the guns still feeling a little floaty and the enemy AI seemingly pretty poor in comparison to Rise and TLoU.

The storytelling and presentation are top notch though. As with the others, likely to be one to play through for the story and then not come back to.

I wish the guns were heavier on the force feedback. I'm absolutely loving it though. I've been really pacing myself observing every bit of detail of each section of the environment.

I love how all the textures has a balance with just enough matte and shine. Nothing drastically plastic looking like Doom. The rock detail/models are absolutely amazing.

I really loved all the moments taking out thugs in the long grass. Quite a few infuriating moments on hard end of chapter 9.

Funny how at times it doesn't feel like playing a game but a fancy CGI interactive movie. The lighting and shadow detail is truly amazing. Some scenes felt like LOTR.

The graphics aren't just on par with Rise of the Tomb Raider, they surpass them by a lot, they also run at a much more stable framerate.

You cannot have played it to say that. The geometry and texture detail is better on Rise.

There's also stuff going on in the environment, weather effects, birds, animals etc. Uncharteds empty corridors feel dead in comparison (from the first 6 chapters).

The level design in Uncharted feels decidedly last gen, a lot of squared off areas that look boxy in design that force you on a linear path. Frame rate is better but still has the ocassional stutter.

I finished Rise of the Tomb Raider so yes I did play it.

You're judging Uncharted based on the first 6 chapters, that's still just the intro.

You get stuff like this later on.

Hardly a narrow corridor.

As for texture detail..

I think you must be playing a different game to me.... :)
