** The Official Nvidia GeForce 'Pascal' Thread - for general gossip and discussions **

Classy's just seem overpriced now the k|ngp|ns are the only binned cards.

yeh thats a shame, being more of a 8pack fan id feel bad buying a kingpin :p
i have a 780 classified thats always been good

i think if ppl just want a 1080 that dont throttle almost any custom will do, if they want to overclock high its waiting for more reviews :(

I'm kind of bored of the EVGA line-up it just got a bit ridiculous - they seem to just keep splurging new fancy models on top of fancy models - is there a "classified kingpin superclocked plus plus" model yet?

Not me. EVGA SC, Classy model. EVGA all the way!!

This does not make sense, if for example the EVGA or Zotac etc. cards will come out on the 27th...

How are we supposed to know which is good? If the reviews for them are under NDA?

We just have to guess based on the 980ti coolers?

I assume all the cards on the 27th will be either FE, or reference cards with a 2/3 fan cooler on them.

And anything like gigabyte G1, asus or classified etc. with better power on them, will be out in 1-2 months?

Depends really. all the known FE cards will be available for launch. Evga, zotac etc etc.

I'd think there will be some custom cards for launch. Mainly because they have been known for quite a while now. I remember jayztwocents saying EVGA wasn't at all suprised at the release of the new pascal cards. Obviously because they already had samples etc.

Which hopefully means they have had the cards a while and be able to get some custom cards out for launch.

All I really hope is an EVGA reference pcb with 6+8pin so standard EK waterblocks will fit.

if its got 6+8 then it'll have (you'll want) extra power phases, so then no it won't be a reference board

Looks like it could be a long wait for me :(. I really want an 8+6pin card. EK blocks holding me back really.

Look's like I may have to air cool 2 cards until blocks are released. Or wait. These decisions are killing me right now lol.

Why o why nvidia did you put a single 8 pin on it.

Might wait for the MSI gaming edition of the 1080. Quite impressed with the cooler on my 980 gaming. Totally silent and keeps everything very cool.

Looks like a single 8pin is enough to walk all over a Titan so why not 8 pin? No point adding unnecessary stuff on lower power drawing cards

^ Why?

It just means the difference between the 970 and 1070 is the same as the difference between the 980 and the 1080 ( ie both are about 1.7/1.8 times faster than their predecessor)

I think I'll get a custom card this time around. I can wait for blocks and just run them on air. EK can usually get them out within a few weeks so not too long of a wait.

Gonna get pretty toasty though.

Just to put it like the 980Ti launch. I ordered 2 MSI 980Ti 6G's on release. Hopefully it will be the same this time around.

i think someone was on the sauce when making these.

But the 970 was barely any slower than the 980...

Something like 12-15% slower IIRC.

The 1070 will not be 12-15% slower than the 1080.

I can 100% guarantee that it will be at least 20% slower than the 1080.

I think the founders will be 579 and the other cards will come in around 499-599.

Anything more than that and it just becomes not worth it....
