yeah, could the mods have a rethink perhaps on the episode spoilers before the 9pm showing rule? looking back at this thread: since 2am this morning and now virtually all posts have been about the recent episode... I've not seen anyone just happening to pop into the thread to discuss something about episode 3 or 4 say having not yet watched episode 5

surely given that lots of people do watch this on a Monday morning (either 2am or when they get up ) and seem to want to discuss it couldn't the rule simply be changed to the usual aired in the UK rule? Saving the spoiler tags for the odd bit of book talk and preview stuff. Literally no one seems to come in here on a Monday to discuss much else.

My above post was written before you posted.

We'll discuss it. The 2am showing does make everything a bit more of a pain.

Are you could not just come into the thread until you have watched it.

Clicking on these spoiler windows is a pain in the ass.

I very much enjoyed that episode.
I found it well interleaved, with a beautiful reveal, my appreciation for the fat man author has increased significantly now, due to a single little long term thread from the early part of the first book, being revealed now. All in one phrase/word.

Fantastic.

Except this thread title specifically states "no spoilers" rather than "contains spoilers"

But every page consists of replies masked by spoiler tags, almost every reply for that matter. Can we not just have a separate thread for people who watch it straight away, and leave the two or three people who haven't (if there are even that many) to talk amongst themselves?

I think the Night's King knew where they were but until the mark appeared on Bran at that time, then he couldn't enter the place. The children of the forest, WHO MADE HIM! (eejits) could stop his entry, so there was no point in the Night's King arriving until the mark was present. He had hardholm and other places to vanquish first.

HODOR!!!! Best timeline gubbins yet, v v sad.

Whilst I hate spoilers as much as the next guy, coming into a thread about a show having not seen the latest episode is just plain dumb. Have some restraint and let the rest of us talk about it!

Arya Stark just played herself in that play.

lol and none of the Bravosi audience will appreciate that little detail

was the random up close penis shot added in the interests of equality I wonder? Since they show so many boobs they're trying to balance it all out.

(removed spoiler tags for reply as past 9pm now)

I do wonder why he wouldn't try and stop Bran before he got to the tree cave thing... I mean sure there were a few undead types hanging about the entrance as a minor trap of sorts but surely he should have had people waiting before they arrived or even surrounded the place perhaps... + them escaping out of the back door - he definitely should have surrounded the place...

I don wonder if they're headed north, I mean since the main entrance is south facing presumably and that is where all the undead types are - are Bran and Meera going to push even further North for a bit?

Edit - also fan theory re: Meera Reed - *Do not read if not interested in Fan theories*

Meera could be Jon's Sister! Both apparently have the same birth year and while the R + L = J theory is quite common and seems all but confirmed there could well be a further twist - Meera's father is the only other person at the Tower with Ned Stark who still survives - Maybe Lyanna had twins and (given who they are and the risk to their lives) they were split up with Ned taking Jon as his supposed '*******' and Howland Reed taking Meera

I think he needed a way in, if he had stopped Bran he couldn't have taken out the children of the forest and the old tree dude.
So he wanted Bran to get inside, and then he could attack properly.

-edit it all seems to be set to plan, as the children seemed to know Mera would laeve, and Bran would need her, as if they all knew what their own ends would be.
Silly inquisitive boy, going up towers, starting wars ;) Hodoring in the past, meeting Night's Kings.

Isn't the wall made from the same magic that the Children of the Forest/Greenseers use?

If the mark of Bran's arm broke that, then it might break the Wall/Wall's protection.

Then the Night's King just let him escape. Because he'll head south.

This is all Bran's fault

Never liked him ! His story has alway been really dull and he seems to just gets people killed.
