On my 2013 ST2 with 16K
Vibration through pedals and steering. More of a buzzing than a wobble. Nope.
Grinding/crunching feeling through the steering at low speed. Nope.
Grinding feeling through the steering wheel moving very slowly in traffic. Nope.
Knock from suspension over bumps. Nope.
Grinding brakes (think this one is normal though) Sometimes but had new pads not long ago.
Tappy engine but again think this is normal. Not noticed it on mine.
I would use if for a few more miles and see if things settle down, you still have plenty or warranty left. The stock motor mount will not help with the vibration either.
I know its not normal. When I go back tomorrow I am going to ask for an extended test drive in another ST. Think I may be at the beginning of a long battle
I know from the thread that it's not that old, these are built at a price with most of the money going on the motor and weight saving and it will be as tight as a drum when new, so will take a while to bed in, hence why you might have these issues. I would use it for a few more months and if it still feels the same complain again. it makes me laugh when you look under the cuts in the front seat carpets and cannot see any sound deadening stuff. Mine had an uprated engine mount and you can see the flex difference in this video. The mount is known to be carp. So it might have something to do with the vibration, steering issues your talk about.
Anyone fancy doing a little test in their ST for me?
If you drive in second gear at app. 3k revs and up do you get a very fast buzzing vibration up through the pedals? Seem to notice it best if i accelerate slowly. Same in 1st as well. I do, think it's all related to my vibration issues!
Thanks gives me some ammo for the dealers! Seems to have gotten a little worse today as well. Looks like someone else over the the ST forum has a similar issue.
Went for Fiesta ST3 very happy with the purchase would like to thank all the people for the feed back in this post. I test drove a few different cars in the and around the same level and didnt feel anything came close. Well done OCUK you guys are gents
I guess its been covered already but I cant go through all the pages today
Normal petrol or Vpower? was going to fill out with the more powerful stuff to test fuel eco and performance. Currently averaging about 38mpg on standard.
Maybe some has already tested this and can tell me if I'm wasting my time or its worth it please...
I was planning on running the engine low before filling back up. Would it be suggested to run all the fuel out or just low and then never go back to standard stuff. I notice that Sainsbury's don't sell any of the more powerful fuels is that a down south thing. Used to get my dirty diesel and nectar points from my local Sainsbury's was all haha
