BBC Top Gear - Series 23 discussion thread

People used to moan how scripted TG was but at least it was WELL scripted! If I didn't know better I'd think this was some kind of parody.
 
Well if you ask me it's better than what top gear had become. Hammond and Clarkson were massive gimps.
 
Jeebus, Le Blank is annoying. Evans is loud, and scripted events as crap as ever.
 
It's a shame this show has great production and camera teams, only for it all to be wasted on annoying, boring presenters and yawn inducing features.

I'm all for giving it time, but the first episode hasn't exactly screamed "who needs Clarkson and Co"
 
didnt know it was on, tuned in 10 minutes ago. first thing that struck me - they're trying too hard to be funny and like clarkson and co. and it just doesnt work - le blanc told a joke and I sat there like :|
 
It's all a bit cringey. The producers don't seem to have cottoned on to the fact that we always tolerated the silly scriptedness of the whole thing because the personalities and their inherent silliness shone through. You can't just write in chemistry, camaraderie and rapport.

Leblanc is OK, Chris Evans just shouts in his horrible irritating nasal whine.

I'm sure Evans has it in his contract that he must win all challenges too.

And yes Chris, you're right, you do look a d**k.
