Do you imagine that everyone will be like "well that was fun, what's for dinner luv?" I would imagine quite a few people (about 50% of the country) being disgruntled over it. Some may even get up and protest near parliament.

The Tories can instigate a vote of no-confidence if Cameron does this - he wouldn't survive. There isn't a majority in parliament to push a exit through though. Not even close if a few of the remainers wish to follow through based on public opinion.

lol there would not be riots over this, the kind of people that riot don't vote or don't care, people will just become more disillusioned with the establishment.

I cant see them taking us out regardless of the vote outcome, didn't they just have another vote in Ireland when they voted no?

For me I think the EU is a great idea badly implemented, im voting out.
 
If we did leave and there was a second referendum on joining the EEA, I reckon they'd be a clear (70/30) majority on joining. Not everyone in the leave camp is against immigration. For some it really is a matter of sovereignty.

But I don't think there would be a second referendum. It would be up to the government to decide what our future would look like outside of the EU.

Personally I can't see it unless Leave gets 60+%. If it's anything between 51%-59% the government will drag it out till next GE imo.

Doesn't matter what an individual MP thinks - the a Leave vote in the referendum would be a clear instruction from British voters to pass an Act of Parliament to quit the EU. There might be a few MPs who think their views on the subject outweigh the populations, but I suggest they will be few and far between. This isn't going to be an issue.
 
Considering that younger people are supposed to be computer savvy and have a mobile continually in their sweaty palm why did they wait until 2 hrs before the website closed to register, are they just thick.

And who/what is it that wouldn't be following the will of the people? According to the statement and articles, it's more than a suggestion - its due process.

Regardless, it would ease a bit of concern because I've always thought that the general population should be able to express their opinion on this and influence a decision going to parliament but not actually directly dictate the outcome - especially in something as closely contested as this. There are just too many 'facts' being banded about, ignorance on both sides and people voting for the wrong reasons for any outcome to be thought of as well considered and reflective of the position the UK currently is in or would be after the fact.

And I wouldn't blame them for being disgruntled if that happened. Not in the slightest. I was just pointing out the amusing irony of the situation.

I'm shocked out of all people who has endless views and opinions to air that she said she didn't first vote until 31. On Sky News Monday morning I think it was... Michelle Dewberry.

What's the statistic - only 2/3 of people actually vote? Rings a bell.

Just can't think why you wouldn't - the most common reason I hear is that they aren't interested in politics.

I've a feeling that turnout in this referendum is going to be >80%. I welcome that whatever the outcome.
 
I'm waiting for England to be knocked out of the group stages in Euro 2016 by a German / French referees decision three days before the referendum. :D:D

You know, I have a horrible feeling that the results in the Euros will effect the outcome. At least there's no games on the day of the referendum!
