Hey guys,What settings would you recommend for a Server?

There was one time a couple of days ago my server was completely full (24 players) and it lasted for a good 4 hours but since nobody has returned so not sure if it was a clan match or something. (was TDM).

No matter what i try,Nobody ever joins the server now,I've tried various different settings.
  • Conquest Large (mixed maps)
  • 24/7 TDM Metro
  • TDM mixed maps

nothing i try seems to bring people in,I know advertising helps a lot BUT is it just a case of there are already that many servers?

TBH we normally play conquest large standard tickets on either the vanilla maps or well selected DLC map rotations. No fast vehicle spawn. No auto balance (as this normally causes groups to leave if they are forced to play against their friends, and no one likes to do all the work and then get switched to the losing team).

It's always going to be hard to get a server going unless you get a regular group frequenting the server who don't mind joining when it isn't already nearly full. Put a link in here to the server, and we might pop in to help populate it at some point.
 
personally think the 24player slots could be issue aswel conquest large would just seem empty to me. Also if we did help populate it with the turn outs the past couple of nights we would fill a side :D

maybe because its such a low demand....


interesting game yesterday, lancing dam I could not do i was 0:4 tv'd from a skies, roadkilled, c4'd too much for my fragile nervs:mad:
 
If we struggle to find a server that doesn't empty when they see us coming this evening, I was wondering if we should ping that guy from WOLF clan who wanted a scrim against us. They've got their own server but tend to play 2000+ ticket horror stories. If they could be persuaded to use sane settings...
 
Thanks for the tips with the ACW-R yesterday. Much better. I was able to compete well at close range.

I recently moved on from a desktop to a gaming laptop and I'm still getting used to the keyboard so I feel like I'm playing terribly a lot of the time. I'm also waiting for a new set of headphones to arrive so I can actually take advantage of positional audio like I could on my old system.

This amused me while playing with it suppressed last night as the other guy always runs with AEK and I suspect cheats as he always turns a corner knowing where other players are even when they aren't on minimap or in view:
