I know lol, but surely the wheel should be all the way back anyway? Unless it was adjusted incorrectly the last time?

When it's all the way back and the chain is correctly adjusted that means it's stretched/worn and you've run out of adjustment room, then it's new chain time as it'll only ever get slacker. Also a stretched/worn chain is more likely to break.

When you fit a new chain it'll start out towards the front of the axle slot, and as the chain wears and stretches, the axle/wheel moves back to take up the slack.

Ah I understand properly now, let's see if I have a socket big enough or if I'm taking yet another trip out to buy the correct one :p

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy the Halfords advanced? If you're missing couple tools?

Edit:

Been to Polish Bikers Day, never seen so many motorcycles at Ace...

The amount I've spent recently, I should have just bought myself the halfords ultimate set when it was on offer for £120 last week. :(

You'd need the 170 piece set to get the big 1/2" sockets, I bought the 120 piece set a while ago but if I was buying again I'd get the 170 or 200 piece set. luckily the large sockets on their own are pretty cheap, £6 for a professional 27mm socket.

They are brilliant kits though, mine has been used almost every week.

The Tuono is a 32mm so I'll need to buy one for that too.

If you're spending out and buying sockets individually make sure you get 6 sided ones, much better than the 12 sided ones.

The 200 piece was on offer again last week for 1 day only for £120, I was really tempted but decided against it. :(

@tom_e, did you do the R6 throttle mod on your SV? I'm tempted to see how short the travel will be along with the restrictor. :p

I've had a chance to twist the throttle of an SV that had the R6 throttle tube, it was nice and short. :)

I thought about it but it's not a straight swap on the pointy like it is on the curvy you've got to trim the cable guide and then find a way to stop the cable being able to work its way off and apparently the plastic is quite brittle so it's easy to mess it up when cutting.

In the end I decided I wasn't bothered enough to risk it all falling to bits at some point in the future.

Also those army surplus waterproof trousers I posted about the other day are brilliant, got an absolute soaking this morning but my legs were completely dry.
Except a little patch on my lower leg where it looks like when my knees are bent on the bike I create a little basin for water to sit in as I've got short legs and the trousers are quite long so they bunch a little and when I stopped and put my foot down that disturbed the waterproof zip just enough to let a little in, this obviously won't be an issue for you normal sized people :D but for £15 they're spot on.

I love the weather at the moment. Each morning when I look out of the window and see the downpour it fills me with joy knowing my bike is staying under the cover YET AGAIN

Yeah this morning was not nice. Left the house, little bit of drizzle so put on my overtrousers over my kevlar jeans and normal (water repellant) leather jacket.

Half way to work (and filtering through miles of traffic due to an accident) and the heavens open. I'm just about dry now... my jacket can take a bit of water but not that much

If I wanted another shower I wouldn't have bothered at 5:30am :(

I am the epitome of a fair weather rider. Though I'm more concerned about the bike getting wet than I am myself

I arrived at work after my 40 minute commute in a downpour bone dry, it's all about having the right kit. Have the wrong kit and it's ****ing miserable.
