She's worried that the economy will be in serious trouble and that there will be lots of negative feeling towards Poles now. Also worried she will have to go through a visa application or something like that.

My mother is also worried. She's Portuguese and has been in and worked in the UK for 40 years. Already she is being questioned when using the NHS, having to prove she's entitled to it, even though she's been paying National Insurance here for 40 years.

Part of me wants her to retire to Portugal to enjoy the weather, shame my dad is so rooted here.

Problem is we can't change our mind.

Either way we are where we are, no time to gloat as we have such a massively divided vote and a lot of finding ourselves to do.

I hope that irrespective of this result this country can pick up the pieces and unify this very divided country and end up being in a better place for it.

I'm nervous about it I won't lie, but only because I don't know what this means to our future.

Nope, but when do people at for the good?
I'm afraid I have no faith of making the best of this. People are innately selfish.

The mavity of the situation will soon be felt.
I really don't think the money we save by leaving the eu will be any saving at all

fear uncertainty and doubt, spreads already like a wildfire. I hope youre not torn apart from hedge funds, financial vultures and the likes, it can get ugly pretty quick. Where is the PM to calm down the panic? Best luck to you all anyway, hope this is an outcome your children will be proud of in the future

You've thought wrong all the way through this. Most of the people in the UK HATE the EU and all it stands for.
For me it was kind of a WTF moment, before this referendum I'd watched politics regularly on question time, prime ministers questions, the news, the odd other political show and it never mentioned the EU once. Suddenly it was everywhere and you realised it controlled several laws, reduced your sovereignity, was making it harder to tackle migration, was threatening us to maintain there idea of a european solution on different issues and more. It felt very strange to have an organisation like tht you was barely aware of messing around your democracy.

Still, we could be well off either way but the amount of scare mongering has only made businesses fear for there lives more than is even relevant. We could see some businesses jump ship out of fear just thanks to Cameron and crews attempt to bully a vote out. Still, not gonna post here anymore as it's full of some very childish and hate filled people (thankfully not all) and that was fine when trying to at least manage discussion but there's no further discussion needed. This is what happens when you keep trying to throw public opinion under the bus.

But yeah, he's thinking wrong about how much people dislike the EU taking away our say. You can find people who devalue anything, whether it be others opinions, violence, money etc. but a lot of people devalued democracy in this argument and then underestimated the uproar it'd cause.

I was just wondering. Will this be the end of UKIP as a political party? I mean, Farage has achieved what he set out to do.

If we ever try to rejoin the terms will be massively worse than they are today and will include the euro which is compulsory for all new members!

In positive news surely this is the end of UKIP they have 'independence' so surely the vote will skulk off back to the Torries and they will die.
I wont be surprised if it strengthens their cause and they gain even more seats at the next GE - actually Im very worried about this

ps3ud0

As for Scotland, OK Sturgeon and Salmond we've called your bluff have your second referendum if you genuinely believe the result will be any different or stop banging on and on and on about it!

I'm flabbergasted, I was unsure myself how to vote up to the very last minute, but I was VERY sure I wanted to stay part of the UK when I voted in the Scottish referendum. The SNP are obviously going to think this gives them a mandate for another Indy Ref

Unfortunately seeing as how pro EU Scotland appears to be I fear another referendum will spell the end for the UK as it stands now.
