the Northern powerhouse will now be known and become more so the northern poor house. Enjoy your civil liberties now boys and girls, because you are about to lose them.............

You are showing just how a lot of people out their look at people from the North, with hate, you really do not like us do you, especially the leave voters, but let's be honest, it is the poor people your wishing the worse possible future on isn't it.

You need to get a grip, your showing how bitter and paranoid you are, and you are coming across like a spoilt brat like many more on here and out there.

Applies for territory north of the tropic of cancer

Hence the *NORTH* Atlantic Treaty Organisation :)

I wonder what an EU army would have done if they were around during the Falklands war? Supported us? Held interminable meetings? Turned their backs? Claimed it was nothing to do with them? *WOULD* it have been anything to do with them, with the Falklands being a UK territory, but not inside Europe?

He was probably hoping Cameron would have to invoke art 50 if they won. As it happens Cameron played a blinder on him by resigning

It supposedly requires an act of parliament so cameron couldn't have done it anyway despite promising to - if he could have the financial instability would probably have been less severe. But yeah played a blinder....

 thought he wasnt running due to lack of support after Gove stabbed him in the back?
Why does Gove running for PM bother BJ so much? Honest question - might have missed it a few posts back.

Why wouldn't BJ grab the bull by the horns? Or is it actually a great opportunity for him to runaway from it all, seemingly justified unless cynical like me (not to mention on the 'opposition'!).

See this is why we're screwed, there is no EEA- deal or whatever kind of deal until we are out, in which case the economy will be devastated.

"BIG: so @MalmstromEU tells me EU/UK trade talks won't start until Art50 exit complete then UK will trade on WTO terms until a deal is done"

This needs more visibility if it's true. This will mean years of hardship.

Can we have a Re run in a few months, now a lot more people actually have some idea.

It's not democracy if it's built on lies. Ignorance etc.
But then government likes those things anyway.

Have to agree - some people on here are as bad as the newly emboldened racists in the level of hate they display.

Granted they are only passive agressive keyboard warriors that are scared and take comfort from it but even so. :(

No confidence vote coming if May doesn't press the Article 50 button ASAP.

no confidence vote from a Tory party for whom the majority of the MP's didn't want to leave ??? she'd pass that with flying colours and come out of the other side smelling of roses. The electorate might hate her, but then they get their chance in 2020.............

So is this legit?

We have to actually leave first, then trade on WTO terms until we can sort out a deal with the EU?

No its not true.

  • Article 50
  • Two year negotiating period begins. Everything continues as if we are a full member for this period
  • Period can be extended by vote from member states
  • Negotiations end. Whatever is negotiated is enacted. What is not covered is left to WTO rules.

And it's not like we will have any bargaining power once we hand in article 50. Unless we really do decide to hold hostages, we will have to accept any rubbish deal they are willing to give us.

I mean it is from an EU trade commisioner, she should know, but who wants to listen to those stupid experts.
