God man, I leave UK for 2 years and this happens. Can't leave you lot alone for 2min :p

Guess Theresa is probably the best of this bunch.

Interesting time ahead.

Labour or Theresa May...not sure which is worse.

I've got a different nightmare scenario for you: Why not a grand coalition in the national interest? Treat Brexit like a war situation, that should do it. They can have a fight after we're in the clear with our new EU deal. I mean, might as well, if Jezza's in place and Labour's ineffective as an opposition.

It's kind of hilarious that the common man / woman protest voted Cameron out and will end up with either Gove or May. You couldn't make it up

Well, it couldn't get any worse, they say. But it's a retort you hear every election with protest voters, doesn't matter what their politics is. It also fails often, as it's basically a gamble on change for change's sake.

Nope, Labour is finished outside North London and state client strongholds.

Conservative vote will go to UKIP if Gove is not PM as Tory faithful will not vote for party led by May.

This is what I said earlier.

Basically Johnson will leave to head a rebranded UKIP taking half the Tory & Labour cabinets with him.

Guaranteed win for him

Wow Britain is screwed. Incoming labour government

Implying Merkel and May are hormonal car wrecks just because they are women? Not normally one to call out sexism but not too keen on this

It was in jest with my tongue in my cheek....firmly. If you are still unhappy then not much I can do about it. Your sensitivities are your own.

I think you're mistaking Boris for a committed Leave campaigner...

He's a political opportunist. Why would he leave the Tories to join a party that has struggled to succeed in elections, and just lost its reason for existing?

In usual circumstances, the issues in the Tory Party would be very much to Labour's benefit. Labour should have a comfortable lead in the polls. But we are not in usual circumstances. The state of Labour is so abysmal and knackered up that given a snap general election, the Tories would probably win.

I can only presume you've seen no news coverage this week!

Labour have never been less electable, I think the Lib deme would knock them into third or fourth after UKIP were we to have an election tomorrow.

I wouldn't go quite that far, but if the Tories remove their full press from the South West, Lib Dems can certainly claw back those seats they held before the last GE. My guess would be a hung parliament, with a large Tory contingent and a multi-hued rump on the oppositions' benches.
