What film did you watch last night?

conjuring with the girlfriend. man i love watching horror movies with squemish girls

I watched The Conjuring also, the Mrs watched Hoolyoaks on catch up :D she hates these type's of films.

I thought it was a really good movie, great sound effects and pretty good special effects, loved the way it involved the whole family, but thought the end was a bit weak.

Look forward to watching the 2nd one now.

Yea! exactly why i rewatched the first one. more of to get the missus to know the general plot so she can keep up with the second movie. though it would seem they dont really have a lot of things that link the sequal back

Monuments Men - 3/10. Got bored about 25 minutes before the end and went for a late-night drive instead. Felt like a bad American interpretation of Dad's Army.

Terminus, its ok. Kendra Appleton is hot but doesn't strip off :(
don't understand why or what sent the objects though. which is why its such a low score. I don't think it covered it, or I missed it.

5/10

I watched All The President's Men this evening. It was good, though I found it hard to follow. I think it probably didn't help that Watergate isn't something I was alive to see, so I didn't have the knowledge that goes with that. Maybe I'm just not very good at following this sort of film :p

One of my all time favourite films even though like you I wasn't born at the time of the events :)
Hoffman and Redford are sublime and it has a surprising amount of tension considering it's about two reporters conducting an investigation.

If you fancy it the book of the same name by Woodward and Bernstein is well worth a read and is a bit easier to wrap your head around. I still find it amazing that two investigative journalist brought down the most powerful man in the world, I just wish papers were as brave now.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005) - With the cast they had and the frankly brilliant source material, I still can't believe what a total cluster**** they made of this film. Absolute rubbish - 2/10

Mr. Homes starring Ian Mckellen.

Wasn't expecting much, but my attention never strayed at all. It's essentially about Holmes as an old man (93) coping with the early stages of Alzheimer's and the relationship he forms with his housekeeper's young son, as he battles to make sense of his final case (his memory is shot), and his life as he nears the end.

An excellent off-beat take on a iconic character whilst shedding some light on loneliness and isolation not just felt in old age.

8/10.
