Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

I'm going to hopefully test drive an ST3 later. Anything in particular I should be looking for? Might hold out for 6 months or so and get as new as I can but I want to see how the ride is.

it wasnt the 1 I linked was it lol, its not off AT - didnt have the chance to check it out this week :P

Is there anything in particular about these cars worth knowing?

Rattles are the only problem I've had. The boot latch rattles badly if it's not been adjusted properly, but thats an easy fix. Speakers have been known to blow or rattle, mainly the rears. If it has illuminated scuff plates which are part of the "style pack", some people have had those die.

My 13 plate has been totally solid for 40k miles and used every day. Being quite light they are very good on tyres and fuel as well, they also don't drink any oil (unlike the VAG small turbo engines!)

Haha no I did look at one but think we are going to do PCP on a new one. I did test drive a year old one and I was very impressed. We are going to wait a few months and then go for it. Wondering what sort of deals people have been offered? It was £2000 deposit £267 a month over 3 years for 12k milage. Not sure if that was any good? This was at Jennings ford for info. Thanks

Style pack gives the better coloured 'Rado Grey' wheels, red calipers and the illuminated scuff plates. Loads of cars seem to have it. Worth it IMHO.

The only thing that broke on mine in its history is the illuminated scuff plate but that was sorted under warranty. Should be an easy DIY fix out of warranty as it's just the LEDs that fail.

Fitted some spacers over the weekend to bring the wheels out in the arches a little bit. Quite happy with the result!

Has anyone fitted an uprated rear engine mount on their MK7?

Seems to make a good improvement.

Yes and yes. Get it. :p

It does get rid of some character from gear changes but it puts the power down a lot better with it. There is no clunky gear change when pressing on with an engine mount.

You going Ford Fair Janesy?

Think I'll go with the Cobb mount in that case, there's a bit of wheel hop too so hopefully that will get rid of that as well.

Not sure about Ford Fair, I'll make my mind up closer to the time.

It's the clunk and hesitancy that it got rid of when changing gears that i noticed the most. It's a nice tweak, just annoying that it's quite pricey.

I have the mountune one (I bought the part and the garage fitted it for free while doing MP215 upgrade). It does make a HUGE difference, the car puts the power down noticeably better with it. Install the quickshifter as well and gear changes become amazing.

ALL the ST up until mid 2015 (I think) have the style pack. It was included free for the first couple of years, but now it's an option.

My Fiesta ST3 went back last week, after a 2 year lease.

thoroughly enjoyed it, had the MP215 upgrade done 3 weeks after i got it :)

managed to do around 11k miles in 2 years and the amount of stone chips collected was quire incredible, spirit blue doesn't hide them either!

The car was babied and garaged EVERY night for 2 years and was worried when the inspection guy came but he said car was ok and no issues outside of the wear and tear conditions.

not sure what to get next...may lease again or just buy used

sounds good,

who did you lease from?

I've just taken a lease 5 months ago and it's good to hear they are not overly zealous with stone chips as i have a few already!

I just hope that by the time my 2 years is up that there is a decent hybrid or EV hot hatch on the market.

That's more surprising than my car as I'm currently coming up to 2 years and hit 24k the other week as it's driven daily, although whether you garage it or not won't affect how many stone chips you get. I've got some in really odd places :/

I saw a MO ST at RS Combe on the weekend that I first saw at a meet nearly 2 years ago, so almost identical age to mine (it's probably slightly older) and it looks like it's barely been driven within that time. Every panel looked immaculate and even the black rubber trims looked brand new as they didn't look sun-aged at all. Oh what I'd give for a garage :(
