UG Level 40. YIPPEE.

Nice, will have to put some effort in today myself and get my 3 remaining levels to get to 40.

If anyone has space for anything later I wouldn't mind joining if there's room.

Thanks to Momo, Rad and Defi for the FL Heroic run this morning. Picked up a couple of 268 Tactician and Striker gear, plus Rad and Momo both donated a piece of each.
Just need to do more Incursions to get even better gear.

Enjoyed that this morning, never expected to do that as I was half asleep, a few close close when my ammo ran out twice :)

Game seems to like giving me Tac/Lone star with decent rolls that I have no use for. More than happy to give them to someone who can put them to good use.

Decided to give this another go but I'm finding levelling up really slow, currently 23 so any tips would be welcome!

Main missions and side missions really. Having a friend or two along for the ride will make progress much quicker. The OcUK Discord channel is a good way to find someone to play with :) (free comms and chat program, details in original post)

Elitism.

Now, i can take advise, and learn from advise, there is no better way to learn.

But after 700 hours and lvl max in UG/DZ/Game, then i would consider myself pretty well versed as to how the game works.

I joined a random instance of FL Heroic today, and was slightly surprised that Mario and Twirlywoos made up 2 of the 4 party members.

Ahh good, atleast 2 of these will know the basics. We'll be able to mash it up and be home in time for breakfast.

Mario is always a pleasure to play with .

But, then comes the interrogation from Twirly.

" 'What class are you?', 'what skill level are you?', blah............

Change this, change that, make sure you put the ammo station in the roof exactly as i posted on OcUK ? "

No surprise that the other guy left, and i followed .

If you consider yourself 'above' randoms, then don't invite them to join.

If you wonder why the player base is shrinking, then look at yourself.

( I completed FL Heroic on my next roll of randoms about 10 mins later, so i still don't understand your need to surround yourself in perfectly equipped players. Unless you need carrying )

Wish I could jump on with some of you guys, just our timing is not right :D
The amount of work it takes to find a decent group sometimes ruins the game!

What makes the timing so awful? Edit: ah US located :D - Do I have you on Uplay?

I think you might have mistaken forming a well mixed group that is supposed to perform as a group for criticism. We do this all the time before we play so everyone has the right skills according to their class and SP, so the group benefits the most and we don't end up running with 4 pulses. The way you worded your reply reminds me more of elitism and arrogance than what you described they asked they asked you - food for thought perhaps?

English and living in the States, I usually get on around 10pm (2am GMT). Met a couple people who I know are decent and have a laugh with.
Uplay: Clipsey (however I'm now guessing there are tons of Clipsey's so I may need to change).
I have Gamble but yet to see him on the same time as me :D
I'll add a few of you lads and maybe one weekend day or something.

Yeah add me too; same name as forum name.

Then why advertise for randoms if you are not going to accept anyone who doesn't fit in with your view of group should be ?

In a private group, then fine.

You click Matchmake, you play with randoms - Hell it can be frustrating, but it is also a challenge.

Give advise - Yes .

Dictating what class people should be playing ( or be kicked - Yes i heard what Twirly said on Discord ;) ) is not beneficial to the game.

Your use of ' WE ' in your reply emphasizes that you play in a group of regulars and not randoms - So not relevant

Think the disagreement in based around the purpose of matchmake.

Your argument is that when one matchmake one would have to put up with whatever the system allocates to the group, even if said person refuse to take the leader's advice nor to defend whether the existing setup is better.

While Fear and Twirly's view is that they have a set way of completing the incursion, and thus the advices. I'm pretty sure Twirly only kicks the person who does not respond or simply ignore the advices because of whatever reasons.

Personally, I do not think we are meant to put up with whatever we are mm'd, simply down to the fact that the mm system is based around group play, if one does not agree with the leader, they are more than welcome to leave.

Anyone else experiencing severe lag?

Walking around is fine, but performing actions like opening doors or climbing ladders has a huge delay, also shooting has at least a 3 second delay.

Not sure if it's my internet connection or the game.

Kind of ironic that that you would agree.

Twirly,Fear, and yourself play together, all we need now is Gamble to speak against my post and it is deemed fact.

If you guys deem randoms below you - Do not ask them to join your group through Matchmaking - Simple.

There are people who still regard this as a game, and play it as a game for fun.

I'll play with anyone, and wouldn't kick them for what i deem 'below me'

July 12th - Maintenance
Here is the list of changes to be implemented with the July 12th maintenance:
#Reduced the base damage of all G36 Assault Rifles by 15%.
#Fixed a bug where named weapons could not have their talents recalibrated.
#Fixed a bug where the Megamap would not open for some players.
#Fixed a bug where using the Evacuation Point in Underground before the new Objective Notification has appeared caused the mission UI to break.
#Fixed a bug where the AlphaBridge Gloves could miss some of their attributes. Note: this change is retroactive, which means that all attributes on existing AlphaBridge Gloves will be rerolled.
#Fixed a bug where the game music would stop completely when logging out while inside an Incursion.
#Fixed a bug where recalibrating the last Talent on the PP-19 submachinegun would not yield a free Talent.
#Fixed a bug where the Sentry Gear Set bonus would incorrectly apply when using The Showstopper automatic shotgun.
#Fixed a bug where using a Signature Skill could cause the visual effect to be applied to all nearby players (not just group members).
#Fixed a bug where weapon talents could stack indefinitely while using the Alpha-Bridge Gear Set 4-piece bonus.
#Fixed a bug where recalibrating weapon talents would yield a random bonus, instead of the one selected in the UI.
#Fixed a bug where players would die when returning to certain missions after respawning in a safe house.
#Fixed a bug where PC players would be able to use multiple consumables at the same time.

I hope you're not going to bring this "closed group" crap into this?

Starting to grind on me considering I have been playing with lots of people the last week and having epic fun, it was just the first few days of the patch we all played together a lot and that was due to us being online at the same time when not many other players were about and just stayed together.

But if you are not, the above post is still valid as I see a lot of comments surrounding it but its a general statement :)

******************
To your point about what happened in FL, anytime I have tried to match-make for FL it has ended in disaster with the exception of hard mode and 3 challenge modes, but for a lot of the runs leading up to my first ever successful random incursion I never asked what people were wearing in terms of gearset.

My first successful CM run, I asked at the start simply "Hey guys, I am running tanktician, do we have another one or should I switch to DPS?"

Response "I am running tanktician" from one random player, hence I switched and we completed it - barely but we still did it.

I have been playing early in the morning before work the last few weeks and I ask the exact same question to figure out what I should run but I try to trust what the other people say and just get on with it.

Now from the above I have learnt that:

  • People Lie - one guy said he was tanktician, I thought OK cool, we wiped behind smart cover several times. I asked on 3rd attempt what his stats were as I also have a tankticina build. The response was 335k toughness and 21k skill without tacticians 4 piece.
  • People lie - I have to mention this twice....
  • I fail a lot without asking, as some occasions I end up with all tacticians in the team, or all DPS (for CS on a few occasions)
  • It is easier to ask once and have a better attempt at finishing, than not ask and fail multiple times.
  • People don't understand skills and how they compliment their builds. not a sweeping statement, just an observation.

Another reason why I ask is because, I will always try 2 or 3 times, but a lot of randoms I find on MM, wont try several times, so I ask to try and prevent this happening and to start a bit of dialogue with them so they know I am keen to get us through it.

Overall, I have had more success in asking these questions over all different types of missions/incursions/UG/DZ than I have not asking.

To clarify, all of the above relates to MM only with randoms.

*******************
For LFG within the OCUK discord, I don't care who replies to me to do whatever but I will always ask what people are running for the simple fact I see a lot of posts on here from the same people showcasing different builds and I want to be able to know what one they are wearing so I can change to match, or even keep what I have on.

For skills - I will also ask as I definitely want to get through it when it is within our own community. This isn't me belittling people, it is trying my best to make sure we are as successful as possible.

But, if people ask me, will I get butthurt? No I wont, as I am far away from the best player ever, yes I know tactics in PVE due to the amount of time I have put into it, but I also make a lot of mistakes and have caused failures on stuff also.

Will I ever kick? Randoms yes but only if they don't listen at all, or make us wipe several times in a row.

OCUK? No I wont kick but I may get fed up and move onto a different activity.

technically everyone on here needs someone to "pull them through" in a way, as I don't know anyone who has dome CM/Heroic solo in incursions, but its not getting people to pull you through, it is working as a team.

When I complete heroic incursions on my own then I will start kicking you all XD haha! jokes of course :)
