84 Confirmed dead after another apparent terrorism attack in Nice, France,

You missed the rest of the post. But lol at suggesting they'd be able to distinguish between tourists and non-tourists, if the nefarious actor wasn't a complete **** (booking return tickets, having a hotel reservation, knowing a few things they'd be going to see, etc). But, tbh, it's all moot given how border checks are so easily circumvented (on would be on continental Europe).

I'm certain they would have had a flag that would have picked them up. If they had tried to come to the UK the security services would have been all over them. On the day of the Paris attacks the UK airports were full of army and security staff. They know when something is happening. It is easier to happen if they aren't checked at the border.

They can't even keep an eye on all those over here that they deem suspicious. How could they hope to flag foreign people as well when the majority of them are probably completely unknown.

Getting the truck to a crowd of people large and restricted enough to ensure they don't just simply move out of the way when they see you coming is the harder part.

Getting a HGV illegally is still pretty hard.

As a truck driver, getting hold of an HGV wouldn't be hard and assuming the driver has any degree of experience he'd have little trouble accessing a pedestrian area if he was inclined to do so, the type of truck used in this attack is a 17tonner, such a vehicle would knock bollards etc out of the way like they weren't there, believe me, same for any cars blocking the way.

The kinetic energy in these things is surprising to the uninitiated, let's put it this way, two things will stop an HGV dead, large tress and bridge supports, anything else gets knocked out of the way or smashed through.

I'm not even sure that leaving them alone now would stop these sorts of attacks, odd thing though it is to say, its almost like they have got a taste for it now and I'm not sure that it would make much difference even if the "reason" for the attacks was removed now

If we totally withdrew from the middle east and told ISIS to get on with it, I reckon the attacks would reduce dramatically. They would take it as a victory and go back to killing their own.

And how long before another group arises blaming us for letting isis devastate the country even further?

What happens if isis proceed unopposed where do they turn their attention once gaining control?

That is job the security services. On the day the day of the Paris attacks the UK airports were full of army and security people. Then later that day the Paris attacks happened. They knew something was going to happen. Except France couldn't stop it because they had no way of stopping them at the border.

They would remain localised imo. They know they are not strong enough to attack neighbouring countries.

Ah yes, I see it now. They're all carrying trucks in their pockets!

//Nonsense aside, this is absolutely awful, the last thing that France needs. RIP to all those who lost their lives and good luck to those who didn't. Awful, awful time to be French :(

We will be experiencing atrocities like this for decades to come until people wise up to the fact that this moon god ideology brings only blood and chaos.

I do have an HGV license and I am aware that at the right speed a truck will move most things out of the way. AT the right speed. They are also not very agile.

It would be difficult to find somewhere that the crowd is large an restricted enough. Even if you found somewhere, it would probably not be easy to get a truck to it.

Was this carried out by those same men who worship Allah and dedicate their entire lives to that particular religion, but aren't real Muslims because a westernised Muslim said so?

muslim truck driver made a wrong turn in france and ran over 100 people. he reached for his wallet and police unjustly shot him.

Could be bad news for us if the French pull out of Le Touquet (Calais border treaty) as a result of Brexit.

Islam is peace, we have nothing to fear if the French pull out of Le Touquet (Calais border treaty) ((they wont)) and our British culture will be enriched, because it is still too boring.
