84 Confirmed dead after another apparent terrorism attack in Nice, France,

I believe that our police force has more self control.

Our armed police shot a bloke dead because he was carrying a table leg, and they were highly trained...how many "well I thought he was pulling a gun out, not his wallet" type incidents when you're average bobby has a gun too?

Not not mention one of the last police shootings caused country-wise riots and the fact no matter how dodgy the incident we seem incapable of ever making one of our officers face any legal consequences for bad decisions that result in someone dead (Jean Charles Demenez anyone?).

No thanks.

RIP and thoughts to the families affected.

I think these are just one of those situations where these types of incidents are unlikely to be prevented.

So a mistake was made, is that really grounds to ignore the heightened threat of terrorism and how to deal with it? Just saying.

RIP to all those who lost their lives, truly horrific :-(.

Lol at some of the downright stupid and ignorant comments in here by the usual suspects lol.

Experienced UK police officers, i.e. those that have served at least five years should be given thorough firearm training and be armed. In Northern Ireland and the continent, officers carry guns and it hasn't led to large numbers of deaths.

I'm not arguing, I'm saying how would they justify petty criminals for just that, petty crime?

The really petty crimes would cost a fortune to sort out if you required to deport everyone you could deport after any petty crime.

All the countries with a strong military need to unite and wipe them off the face of the earth. Absolute scum.

I hear stuff like this a lot. Who exactly are you wiping out?

If its specifically terrorists, military power is not the problem. It is not like there is not enough available at our fingertips. It is mainly what we can realistically do with it that is the issue.

Wasn't there an article about how they wanted to arm more UK police officers, but the officers refused due to the problems with "police brutality"?

The secret is in proactive intelligence, not reactive defence.
As I said, they missed this one. If it had been a dig then I would have followed it up with something to insinuate as such. As you have said, you interpreted it as a dig, which it wasn't, therefore you got it wrong, you misunderstood what I was saying. So then, why would I backtrack if you got it wrong? I wouldn't, so your 'you are trying to turn it on me' is rubbish.

That's it, I'm leaving it there, it's not the time to be bickering fella.

Madness too.
You can't hold families responsible.

You can invade and displace the caliphate, boots on the ground, hundreds of thousands of them.
Displace remove, it won't get them all, but if they hold no ground, then they will relaise the current chapter in the book isn't for this time, the caliphate disbands, and it will stall the growth of attacks.

It will do nothing to help with the cells in europe, but it will stem the refugee flow.
It will stem the traffic. Won't stop terrorism, but will help actually show the moderates we will step in to obliterate the grounds the extremists hold.

Frankly I think anyone joining the army in any western nation now needs lessons in arabic by default.
We need to actually do this.
