Where the hell do we stand if we just ignore these democratic decisions?

It's basically only Londoners and the Scots who are desperate to stay. The rest of the country mostly has "leave" voters.

The idea of jettisoning London (along with the govt) certainly has its appeal

And if the implementation of a democratic vote is borked, you're well within your rights to protest and campaign to prevent the worst effects of this decision or to overturn it entirely, as Brexit headbangers have done in the past from their perspective.

I guess for "remain" voters the outcome alone is proof of foul play? Ie, so long as the result was to leave, the process must be erroneous

Brexit means Brexit. We sure won't be having any droughts this year in London.

Why should this referendum result change the previous referendum result? And why should it mean that no one is allowed to challenge it or want to have another vote in the future?

Ah, but the answer to that question (if indeed it is a question) will depend on the one asking and the social context! In this case the appropriate response is "I'm fine, thanks."

But this is not an answer, let alone *the* answer, merely a response which serves more as a courtesy to the asker than a meaningful statement.

No, you see it's ok for Anti EU people to whinge for 40 years, that's democracy. But if the other side questions a narrow margin in a poorly laid out vote with misinformation on both sides... they just need to shut up and get on with it.

And don't be so confident that "Brexit means Brexit" because this is very easy to say, much less easy to achieve in a way that satisfies people (on all sides).

We don't even know what "Brexit means Brexit" really means. We don't yet know what the governmentis truly aiming for. Is it full Brexit, Brexit Lite or some kind of "sorry but this is the best we can do" kludge where we muddle through in true British omnishambles fashion?
