No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

You land on a planet and meet this cat, and he does a dance then explains the meaning of life (I won't spoil what he says, but it will BLOW YOUR MIND). Basically the universe was created by a dancing cat, which totally explains society's fascination with cat videos. Full circle.

Guys, if you have no interest in the game, please leave the thread alone. We're getting quite a lot of RTMs for this, and while I would never want to discourage genuine discussion, I've seen several people in here who seem to be taking pleasure in trolling. If it doesn't stop soon suspensions will be handed out, and people may find themselves losing access to this forum. Be nice, be respectful.

well I'm 6 hours in and still loving it. Its a nice break from generic shooter 16. If watching youtube and deciding to troll threads instead of playing the xxx number of games better than it is the best thing to do on a saturday then just lol.

Please don't click this if you don't want to know! This is for those who want to know what happened at the centre!

When the streamer selected the centre, it basically just zoomed all the way back out to the end of the universe. After that, he zoomed in on another galaxy in a new universe No dialogue or anything.

Forgot you could add spoilers :)

Please don't try to discuss the ending so close to release. Even partial (implied) spoilers can ruin what a lot of us have genuinely waited a long time for.

It shouldn't matter that you don't like the game, or are not interested. there are plenty of us who want to share our experiences without fear of it being ruined by people trying to get one up on us because we defended the launch.

Not sure why my post was deleted!

Truth is the is no game its just an idea.

Its like floating in a concept of someones imagination, the is a game there somewhere but the is no reason to be pulled in.

The programming behind it is flawless on the scale it produces, but its like?
Something is not quiet right about it.

That's beside the control issue. Its one of them it works but does not fit in right.

I been gaming since 1982 I can assure you what a game is, this is a game but the is something about it that does not work.

Just spent the last 5 hours lookling for either antimatter or it's blueprint, and failing.

The blueprint is supposed to be in the second star system, I've been all over the three very dull planets in that system and found nowt!

Bored with it now!

The False-consensus effect is very strong in this thread.

I didn't buy it as I was sceptical but I've read quite a few people clearly enjoying it, yes there are plenty who aren't but I could say the same about many games I've loved and loathed over even the past 12 months. Good examples being Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 - I own both and detest them, can't honestly see why anyone would put more than 10 hours into either before falling asleep, yet I've 575 hours into ARK, an early access game many would likely hate.

We're all different, I'll likely get NMS but it won't be anytime soon, I'm not going to write it off entirely just yet when I'm reading about so many having that sense of adventure and exploration which I personally love in games.

Ok 24 hours spent on the starter planet, got 100% on it and have a special standing with the locals learning 60 odd words, but am I missing something. I still can't enter the factories without blowing up the door.

Its one of them games metaphorically speaking as glove to a foot and a sock to a hand.

I love open world games but the is something about this game that does not fit.

Might be just me getting old but each to there own I guess. ;)

Played it for an hour and got a refund, i will buy again when its has more meat to it, its a budget game getting sold at top price...and its not finished i will give it 6 months and buy again.

Have found a very cool barren moon that is just rock with loads of gold and plutonium sticking out of it. Amazing the variety of these planets.
