Who owns a 350z/370z?

I wanted to do this but the Mrs has put her foot down. She has demanded that my next car be 'practical' and something she could drive if necessary.

I'll just have to keep it then or I'll end up in a bottom of the range fiesta.

Thankfully my Mrs, although currently spending all my money on an extension -is accommodating with cars and doesn't mind the idea of folding herself in and out of it if she needs to

That said I think I'm swaying towards a Mk3.5 MX-5, mainly as it will get far more use than an Elise (and the 350Z). Also if I use it for 12 months and decide I really can't live without the performance I can't imagine I'll loose a huge amount in that time.

Are the import autos really that bad? I'm considering one of these for my next car.

Yes. They really are that bad.

Out of interest, what makes you want to consider the auto over the manual, price alone? If its because you want an automatic fun car with decent power - I'd look elsewhere. If its because of the price I'd really try and hold out for a manual.

Now the 370Z I think is a different story, it was a far more thought out product and is a genuine option.

Oh I wasn't specifically looking for an auto, I may have come across that way. Was just wondering. :D What is it about them that's so bad? I assume the power is the same?

I'm considering buying a 370z. £15.5k, 2010 with 47,000 miles on the clock. To me, I reckon I could get at least 8k back in 3 years time which makes it quite affordable.
However, I'm keen to know any things to look out for. I've tried finding a buyers guide but can't find anything decent!
Also, I reckon servicing should be around £200-£250 a year which seems cheap! I work in the motor trade so can get good discounts as well.

Anyone got any good tips?

Not done Any research on 370's but I there is one on the forum for sale for 12k with those miles, it's the base model though so does not have cruise/rev matching.

I have a 10-11k budget for a 350z and was hoping to get a sub 50k hr model, am I been realistic here as they few I've seen are up for 13-14k. Overpriced? To me that's entering 370 territory, dealers taking the **** or is this how much they Are selling for?

From my research the 350Z market seems to have gone crazy in terms of people asking for bonkers money. If you look at the kind of prices people are asking for vs the prices they are actually selling for on eBay etc. (about the only place I can find that actually publicises sold prices!) there is a huge difference!

I think that budget is entirely reasonable, youll probably have to go private. We got our 57 plate HR GT 32k miles for £10k 2 years ago. If you look on the forum the recent HRs have been going for that.

I wouldn't stress too much about mileage on these, many have them with 100k+ and no issues, yes it's a performance car but from reading around they're very reliable.
