What have you done to your car today?

EGR was only £50, That included having them reset the ECU and error codes.

Prob far too much money, but i plan on keeping it so I'm happy enough.

Clutch is dieing and DMF will need changing. Plus the front shocks are needing to be replaced.

Expensive car :P

Dem MPGz tho rite :p

Thought I'd do an oil change today. Found out opie only sent me 6l instead of 7l. Oh well, good job i had a litre top up.

Just sharing as it might help, I changed the aux belt on my old Mondeo, with the 2.5 you could use a 3/4 socket wrench to pull the tensioner down but it was physically impossible for me to pull it down enough with one hand and pop the belt back on with the other, I needed two hands to hold it down and luckily a neighbour put the belt on the top pulley for me :p

I managed to finish the job today. Car sounds almost like a petrol compared to how it was!.

The tool makes compressing the tensioner very easy.

I did have a bit of a nightmare when I misread the guide I followed and routed the belt incorrectly through tensioner. But worked it out in end!

Halfrauds quote for alternator and tensioner / belt change was 480. I bought parts for 180.

Feels good.

Reduced its resale value a bit. Thats a 9K in 4 months. :)

Well the highest mark on the speedo is 150! They use the same speedo in all MK1's aside from the VRS, which includes the 1.8T 150HP (which will supposedly go 136). :)

But you're right either way. It tops out at around 120 speedo indicated, so about 115 I guess. :p

But it is doing it's job, and doing it well. It's getting you round the country (quite a lot by the looks of it!) cheaply, whilst you have a good save and a good think about what to get next.

Out of interest, how has it been (other than slow)? Have you had many problems with it?

All I've had to do since buying it (aside from servicing of course) is get the rear exhaust hanger welded (£20) and replace a side-light bulb. :D

Its fairly comfortable, easy to drive, and very economical.

Only a few small niggles, the drivers side window switch works on one touch but not on a half press, the AC compressor wails sometimes for a few seconds when starting the car, and the aux belt tensioner rattles (but I'll change that when I do the belt) :)

Changed oil. Old oil seemed in ok condition, filter seemed to be doing it's job and filtering the crap. I may change to a thinner 0w40 oil next service, thinking mobil 1. Also checked my rear subframe for cracks, couldn't see much past the underseal, but all mounting points looked fine. Will check again closer in the morning, there are no noises or anything of such. Just curiosity.

Changed the rear indicator bulbs to LEDs on my Leon. Really don't know why SEAT let it leave the factory with regular bulbs considering almost all of the other lights on both ends of the car are LED.

Then gave it a proper clean along with the parents' car while I was there.
