Anyone ever ridden any of the old 2 stroke spots bikes?

Like an NSR250R?

I've ridden an NSR125, RS125, RS50, DT125 and some others. They're immense fun and have loads of power for a 125. They'll run circles around any of these new 4 stroke jobbies and tune up very easily. I loved riding them and will certainly be picking one up again. You need to own a 2 stroke for a while. Easy to work on too.

You're knee should be the first thing to touch the tarmac if you're in the correct body position. then your toe slider on your boots and then that lets you know you're peg is about to touch (which is not really what you want happening).

Lets wait for Fireskull to get his SV back on the road or for tom_e to post a picture of scratched slider on stock pegs. A lot of people say its not easy to put your knee down on the SV.

Today had to rain... but this week the sun should be out, I've a good place to practise knee down.

Nope, but I would love to!

A guy with a 701 took his bike to DynoJet for remapping.

The gains to bottom end and midrange are crazy. 10 extra HP and 10 lb/ft torque.

You'll be waiting a while the stock pegs went months ago :D

Are you going to stick a PC5 in yours and dyno it? :D

I'm seriously considering it! Will make inquiries anyway and work out the costs.

The SMC I was able to flat foot with both of my legs, but it is a pretty high bike. It would be perfect for doing longer wheelies, it was so light. :)

Thats one of the best things about the 690/701. It makes it so flickable, also, it stops on a dime. All the heavier bikes I've ridden, you really have to take into account the inertia of the bike, so using much more front brake. With the SM, you don't feel the weight of the bike on stopping, so you can pretty much come to a stop by kicking down the gears, engine breaking, then blip the brake at the last moment.

Since having the bike, I don't think I've pulled the brakes in more than a 5th of their travel - that's more than enough!

http://www.the2wheels.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=173_204_205&product_id=580 Stuck a set of those on as my stock ones were worn on the rubber and generally looking old and tatty.

What's the best parcel option? I'll grab some, I shouldn't scrape with these.

Have you done any wheelies on your 701? I bet it'll be scary, I wouldn't want to drop it. But than, its an SM so there's not much you can damage. :p

Haha! And I've been meaning to get my old SV back on the road for about 3 years... maybe for this winter.... Ive never got knee down on an SV before but ill give it a go :D
3 years?! You're a bad person, poor little SV... :(

Whichever is cheapest has always been the one I've gone for and everything's normally arrived in around a week.

Don't forget you'll need the adaptors from there as well.

So I was going to order some Dot4 brake fluid for my bikes/scooters but when I was looking for it, I found some Dot4 for bikes... since when do they make brake fluid for bikes? as far as I know the fluid for cars and bikes were the same, or am I loosing something here?
I have a feeling that bike brake fluid is just a way to charge more for it.

I was looking to get some Castrol React performance Dot4, anything else that I should consider?

Of course ;). Theres a huge car park near my work which is empty on Sundays and in the evening. So I usually go there to practice.

Tbh, I'm extra cautious because I don't want to drop the bike (again), so am not great at them. But I'll get better. Riding a SM, it feels a bit wrong not being able to do wheelies :D.

When out riding yesterday, there was a NSL road and really tiny humped back bridge. I shot over it at 70 and did a jump - totally not expected. That was cool :D.

Slap "bike" in the name double the price job done.

I use Motul RBF600, the specs in terms of wet boil are decent so it should in theory be good for longer between changes. Although considering my bike any bottle of £3 DOT4 or 5.1 would probably be just as good.

I won't bother, don't want to spend anymore on mods. :o

This has always been good for me and the shelf life is pretty decent as well if you keep the lid screwed on tight - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0069RGK20/ref=pe_385721_37986871_TE_item

let me guess "slow down your trying to hard to impress and come across as a total **** " .

Edit: sorry IC3 just pulling your plonker i come across as grumpy some times ;)
