"I'm Skint"

I live with my parents.. I am glad i don't enjoy getting drunk and don't smoke. I could not imagine losing that amount of money each month.

Also im glad i have no friends so i don't have to deal with being invited out for lunch.

You lucky sod. What a life

Where do you live? I can easily spend £100 a week on food, but this is London's prices. I could probably survive on £30 if I wanted to, but I don't, so I enjoy it a bit.

Same. I used to spend £30 a week as a student in the SW. London does skew things a little though. I used to spend £50 a week on breakfast (porridge) and lunch, with a big lunch on fridays. You must struggle to spend that much elsewhere though.

They may also be putting all their savings into a house deposit, so they don't have to waste money on renting...

I make 20k a day....

Are you guys peasants or what?
You need to get some life goals. Stop wasting it being losers.

Thought you were in O&G?

EDIT: Ignore that.. I thought you said £20k a year...:o

And they post on OcUK? :D If I was earning that sort of £ then I would be sitting on my yacht getting 'attended to' by beautiful women, not posting on here. By that statement I mean them making me tea and stuff of course.

In any case I would not shout off about my wealth.

£250k a year really doesn't go that far... Especially if you live and work in London... If you're on your yacht you're probably also not earning that either.:p

(and no I'm not on and have not been on that much)

Maybe they just don't want to spend £7 on lunch and a pint and have hobbies or other things they would rather spend their money on.

P.S. Your maths sucks!

/Salsa

This would be me. I would much rather make / provide my own lunch which I know is healthy probably costing a 1/3rd of eating out somewhere. I'd rather spend my money on other things. Another example of this is where I work we have a Costa cafe that is subsidized and only £1.85 for a large. Some people will visit the cafe twice maybe even three times a day but I prefer to take my own coffee in and make it myself at a fraction of the cost. Occasionally I'll get the quip of 'don't you ever spend mone' but I've bought a project house and recently flown solo in a glider and I think my new hobby is going to result in costing me a little :D

It is easier however to just say 'I'm skint!'

Rent £400.

I lolled. :D

You and me both! :D

Breakdown of our rough monthly outgoings...
Rent £635 (below average for place with 2 living rooms, but very below average quality/upkeep)
Utilities inc. CTax & house insurance £250 (only band A CTax, no fancy tv package)
Travel ~£50 (promo weekly bus ticket, could stop any time, but I cycle sometimes which costs money to buy/upkeep, no car which saves me ~£60 on basic running costs excluding any parking fees)
Food £175 (without buying much carnivore bits)
Food at work £70 (I only work 3 days per week)
Pub meals with friends/family £60 (usually once per week, one or other)
HTB ISA £100 (mum generously contributes another £100)

Total ~£1350 for two of us taking home ~£1700

Doesn't account for loads of stuff like hobbies; holidays; clothes; household furniture/gadgets; Xmas/birthday presents etc.

Good job we both don't drink or smoke!

"We're skint" ;)

Not anymore. Taken a drastically crappier worklife choice /money moving to Sweden when it comes to work. I got utterly chewed out offshore and with the industry as a whole. Much happier now.

Lunches (£8 x 20) £160

Let us be clear here.... It is a swivel chair which spins perfectly well and keeps me very happy :D

Plus I upgraded to the foam cushion, purely because my sister in laws sofa looked like dog **** after 18 months.... ALWAYS GO FOAM!!!

KILL THAT WALLPAPER KILL IT WITH FIRE!

But even if it was say a £2000 sofa, it would be paid off in less than four years, if interest free. ;)

I wish I only had to pay rent/mortgage for four years as a regular expense, all that disposable income I would have afterwards.;)
