PlayStation 4 Pro in-bound

How much is that worth then?

Brand new ones typically sell for around £800-1000 on eBay. Don't know about used.

I don't think any do actually sell for that price to be honest, there are ones on there at those prices that I swear were on there at that price when they first came out.

I was only really being stupid with the selling it to get both, I could go to GAME and get £500 for it tomorrow, selling private? God knows what people would pay in all honesty.

I think they maybe one of those things that you just sit on for years and it MIGHT increase and sell for something then but who knows, apart from die hards in 10+ years time who will want (or frankly care) about an old Ps4 that is the same color as the original PS.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'd really like a HDR 1080p OLED but it seems HDR is only coming with 4k sets sadly.

Guess I'm waiting another couple of years for my TV upgrade :'(

The negativity surrounding this announcement has to be a wind up?

It's a £350 box that makes games look amazing on a 4k TV (according to people who have actually seen it) and better on a 1080p screen. What is there to be negative about?

If you stick a UHD player in the price goes up right?

The conference did them no favours, it was bland and unassured whilst the format not being suitable to display the benefits.

You're right though at £350 it's incredible value, and I would hazard a guess once people start getting these into their homes the negativity surrounding the console will disappear.

As for TVs looks like LGs oled TVs are not very good for gaming due to the insane input lag. From everything I have read Samsung right now in the 4K / HDR range has the lowest input lag. Ks7000 & ks8000 are highly recommended.

Yes, also been looking at the LGs OLED input lag, looking at 34ms vs the KS700's 21ms. It's not ideal, especially for FPS multiplayer.

34ms is not too bad - whether the improved pq makes up for it is entirely subjective over a fast led. As is 4k + HDR @30fps vs 1080p @60fps. It it turns out as that clear cut i'd likely go for the latter, regardless of panel.

Speaking of dream gaming panels, the SAMSUNG UE78KS9500 has to be the daddy at the moment, despite being a lowly led!

Aren't those input lag times based on non HDR modes?

Most of those times go out the window when HDR is on.

Yeah. From what I read at hdtvtest, only Panasonic and Philips currently have gaming HDR modes. LG oleds jump to 50+ ms with HDR which would be a deal breaker for me. I'd rather play at 1080p with the other benefits.

You're on a PC component forum. You know very well you can build a gaming PC that would smash PS4Pro for the same price.

Thats why everyone is underwhelmed. It's a premature update to the console that's already lagging too far behind the master-race.

At least XBox One S is honest about what it is... the same gaming hardware but also providing a 4K Media Hub, some welcome redesign to the controller, a free AAA game (FIFA 17) and (arguably) looks far nicer than the PS4 or it's Slim/Pro versions.

I was very much on the brink of getting a PS4 for much of this generation, and was waiting for a slim variant. Now, I'm about as put off as can be.

Time to re-join the master race methinks.

Does your TV support HDR?

No but it will still be 4K and I can buy a new HDR TV if it really warrants it.

Too bad, reviews looked good and all.

Can it be updated?

Doubt it very much. It's a lovely TV but the replacement K series has HDR and that's a reasonable price.

Firmware updates to existing TVs can enable HDR, it depends how greedy the manufacturers are, I know Samsung were looking into bringing out a HDR firmware update for their latest models before HDR came as standard.

Well, i read about this possible HDR update and stumbled on this
https://www.avforums.com/threads/samsung-ue-ju6400-ju6500-4k-range-owners-thread.1953353/page-16

and then found this http://www.avsforum.com/forum/166-l...amsung-sony-supporting-hdr-all-2015-tv-s.html

I am running FW 1460 btw.

8-bit panel, not 10-bit but its HDR.

Watched the Exodus clip from here http://hdrsamples.com/exodus-4k-uhd-hdr-sample-footage/ and it looks superb.

Barely had my PS4 a couple of months and now i will have to sell it and upgrade.

A PC to smash the PS4 Pro for £350? OK.

Tbh who really cares.

Some people like only PC's, some only Consoles, and some only like both, it's the way it is. I happen to like both. Both have there pro's and cons.

I did expect the price to be nearer £500, but that £349 has wow'd me.

Kthnxbai.

I personally am not bothered at all. I don't feel short changed, I don't think it'll impact online performance enough to make me care and offers no in-game advantages other than "oooooh, purdy". Whatever. Maybe I'll buy one later on, but my ps4 is still ticking along just fine.
